Wherever there are teaser trailers at Comic-Con, there are nerds with camera-phones....

Funny! I had JUST copied the URL, and was coming to this thread to post it.  :)
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

The sound was a bit brutal, so I was wondering: what song where they playing at the end of the trailer?

Anyway, this looks amazing.  I can't wait to start watching it.  Now I have to wait until October.

Nice, crisp HD trailer:

Looks pretty good, if a bit familiar.

And it's already been picked up for a second season!

FLOCK of RABID SHEEP?!?!

When is it supposed to come out again?

Tyrant

On Halloween during AMC's "Fearfest" lineup.

Yay!  I'm incredibly excited about this.  From the trailer, I already know that they are going to improve on the already great original... or at least make it more intense (particularly the tank scene, but ).

While I'm hoping it stays faithful to the spirit of the comic series, I hope it's not as bleak.

...

God that'd be a depressing watch.

That's kind of why I'm not as excited about this as I thought I would be.

Well, in its defense, there are few things about a zombie apocalypse and the total collapse of human civilization as we know it that's not bleak.

So it'd be kinda refreshing for it not to be depressing, right?

It doesn't have to be all happiness and light, but I don't really want to put hours and hours into a show and it just bum me out everytime.

I agree. It would be kind of cool to see more zombie apocalypse stories that stand apart from the typical depressing and violent motif. I think that's why I loved Shaun of The Dead so much. Sure, you had the violence and it was pretty tense in some scenes, but the entire time it's so nicely tongue-in-cheek too.

I'd imagine they'd almost have to put some lighter moments into the TV show, tbh, since it's paced differently than the comics. You get an issue every month, so you get more time to recover from whatever messed up thing you saw between "episodes". Presumably the show will be weekly so it's probably not a good idea to bombard your audience with all of the book's bleakness and none of the recovery time. I guess we just won't know until after the premier.

I don't know if I would call it light, but some of my favourite character stuff from the comics is explaining who they were before hand and how the zombies changed their life.  I'm hoping there will be more of that.  Don't need episodes that flashback, but just getting to know these people (some will probably better as enigmatic).  It's not that it wasn't like that in the comics, but I really want some expansion on that front.  How do you entertain yourself or keep yourself busy in the madness.  This never seems to come up in these movies, but I bet there would be a lot of people telling each the stories of movies and TV shows.
