I learned that the other Na'vi clans apparently hate the horse riding clan because they were assigned the task of  "run headlong into the gun barrels of the enemy."

I was also thinking why there were no archers up in the trees, until I saw the horse running on fire, then I figured Cameron had set up that entire battle just to set up that scene.

When I saw that I kept thinking "She ran calling Wiiiiildfiiiire."

I learned that in the military of the future, if you don't feel like following orders you can go and leave right in the middle of a combat operation. And not only will you not get court-martialled, no one will even ask you to give a good explanation for disobeying orders, leaving you free to organize a prison break.

That was the point in the movie where I just said "Fuck it.  They're not even TRYING to make a cohesive story."

I thought they weren't actually military, just ex-military and hired by "The Company".

Still, when one breaks the chain of command in a combat situation, there are typically consequences.  Apparently not on Pandora, though.

I learned when Quaritch grabbed Jake by his pigtail it wasn't quite like grabbing him by the balls.  At least that's not how I would have reacted.
And I'm worse than Hitler.

djshire

To never watch another James Cameron movie again

Yeah, I did wonder about that....they connect to the animals and each other through their ponytails?  Shouldn't it be their tails?

Seems to me if the humans want to defeat the Na'vi you'd just have to give them a haircut....

Or use Nair grenades. Which are also useful against Wookies.

Or Robin Williams and Ed Asner

I learned that breaking horse anteaters or butterfly dragons is a matter of plugging in.  However what happens if a Nav'i is more weak minded than the animal it's trying to master?  Does the horse anteater try to ride the Nav'i?
And I'm worse than Hitler.

Lemming Howard

Oh yeah...I learned... what the hell happened to all the 'expensive Avatars" that were training when Jake went trying out his new body?
And I'm worse than Hitler.
