Sigh.

Just sigh.

And it's not even by the Noun Movie guys. And yet it looks even worse.

BBQ Platypus

Sweet Christ on a unicycle.  That movie looks like 31 regurgitated flavors of shit.
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

And the target audience for this is who exactly?

No seriously, I want to know so I can beat them up one at a time.

Do we have any proof that this is an actual movie and not just a fake trailer parody sketch?

SJP

Well, I'd be inclined to say it is fake, but the first person in that trailer is Bryan Callen, AKA "Pool Boy" from Mad TV, and I figured since he hasn't acted in much SINCE Mad TV I looked him up on IMDB.  Under his name there's a news column that says, "Yes, this movie is real."

So, there you have it.  And the new "What In the Name Of All That Is Good And Decent" Award goes to this steaming pile.

You know, there's nothing wrong with making a parody movie.  The trouble is, the people who make them anymore put no further thought into them than smoking a big bag of weed and then saying, "You know what's funny?  Fart jokes!"  And then a friend says, "I've got something funnier!  Weiner jokes!"  Then they laugh, and when they wake up after passing out in a big pile of Doritos and hookers, they somehow have a 500-page screenplay.

On a related note, this same director is making a Twilight parody called "Fully Mooned."  He has previously directed "Saving Ryan's Privates."  Clearly this is a filmmaker on the rise.
One Man Band Riffs.  18 riffs, over 600 served, since 2009.

Doctor Who?

Oh come on.  It has been two years since the last movie move so I figured Hollywood had gotten over this type of parody, now this.

Usually a parody takes something serious and makes it ridiculous. This takes something funny and makes it stupid.

It's Direct to Video, so it'll be available in a few weeks.

Oh great.  I was hoping this would turn out not to be real.

Looks like a cheap cash grab, and if people are stupid enough to buy something like this, then more power to the filmmakers.

The thing is, a parody of the Apatow style movie could be really funny, if it were done by some talented people.  But it would have to be kept really short.  It would probably work better as a short than as a feature film.

Yeah the thing is for an hour and a half movie to work you have to have characters that people like not just cheap knock offs that are just there to be that and only that.  For all the cazy jokes in Airplane and all the jokes they made about their characters they did have characters.

I was much happier 5 hours ago when I didn't know this existed.  Why did you inflict the knowledge of this on me?

Shared Pain is Lessened, Shared Joy is Increased.

Plus, I'm a sadistic sort. Be glad that I'm not posting Harry Potter/ Draco wingfic in celebration of tomorrow's riff. Bwha-ha-ha!

[sarcasm]I'm so glad the people who made this film were so creative and original.[/sarcasm]

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?
