I saw Godzilla 2000 (the one where he fights the UFO that looks like a shiny bedpan).....

And then turns into the Rancor from RotJ?   Love that movie!   ;D

I saw Godzilla 2000 (the one where he fights the UFO that looks like a shiny bedpan) in my local cineplex. A great experience. I also saw the original restored Gojira at a nearby arthouse theater, but I wasn't early enough and had to sit in the front row. Uncomfortable, but still worth it.

I recommend you seek out the original Japanese version of the movie on VCD. I found the American dialogue just a bit too silly compared to the original Japanese version. The final battle with Orga and his creepy roar they came up with is really the only thing I believe they improved.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

I would love to see a Godzilla movie on the big screen.

So, Paramount doesn't hate America.  Soccer does.

You've got it backwards - America hates soccer. Well, ambivalent, at least. Anyway, I know the World Cup is a huge deal, but people can't take two hours away from soccer to go see a huge blockbuster movie? Crazy, man.

There's a whole lot of drinking after the games.  For the winning and losing fans.

There needs to be drinking during the games. By the players.

Plastic Self-Cleaning Duck

Definately as good as the first one.

I still hate Mickey Rourke with a passion....and he's almost unintelligible....but other than that...

Artie

I probably enjoyed this more than the first movie - plenty of action and humor to go around.

Only thing I didn't care for was Hammer - annoying as hell

And for those going this weekend - be sure to stay through the (incredibly long) credits.

Why can't they put these bonus scenes in the credits, like between the closing titles and the scroll? (Like the Bullseye bit in Daredevil, the only thing that movie did better than Iron Man.)

Hammer was annoying, but I love that everything he does fails so horribly.  He's such an asshole.
I like artificial grape flavor, but I hate real grapes.  A paradox!?

I really liked Hammer. Rockwell was one of my favourite things in the movie/

Am I the only one who thought Rockwell looked EXACTLY like Gary Oldman in LEON'?

saw it last night. enjoyed it a great deal. However, the guys are going to have a problem with the start of it since Downey starts talking before the Paramount logo even appears.

I was also going to give props to the film for avoiding one of my movie pet peeves at the end, but then I remembered that they actually didn't. (shrug)

... a spoiler. And since 90% of us haven't seen the thing yet, I'll just keep quiet about it.

You can do a spoiler tag here.

I liked the movie but it didn't enthrall me. Maybe I need to see it again since we went to the midnight show and I was zoning out in parts of it. My biggest complaint that there weren't enough robot fights for my taste. Who cares about plot and exposition, I just want to see robots beating the shit out of each other (I liked Transformers 1 & 2 for this reason).

I'm surprised you could tell those were robots fighting.  Transformers one and two just looked like people throwing wads of tinfoil with brand names printed on them.
