David Chen of /Film attended one of the screenings for The Room and interviewed Wiseau.  Haven't had a chance to read/watch any of it, but I figured I should at least share.

Check it out here.

You know, the Claudette-is-a-hypochondriac theory has occurred to me, but I always dismissed it because it made too much sense. :P

Except that you're no longer a hypochondriac with a positive test result.

Unless she's lying and then he really means Münchausen syndrome and just doesn't know it.  But then, she'd constantly be in doctor's offices or hospitals, wouldn't she?

If she was a hypochondriac and had been crying wolf for years about various ailments then it would make sense that the characters wouldn't believe her and just brush her off.

And with that one sentence I put more thought into the screenplay than Wiseau did for the entire running time.

But....real diagnosis or attention-craving hypochondriac....don't you think Claudette would be more upset over her announcement being brushed aside like that if she had been written like a real character?

I get the feeling that someone (a fan or a friend) supplied him with that explanation for the breast cancer thing since the movie started getting all of this attention.

Chris-R hooked her up with some medical marijuana and she was good for the rest of the movie.

Well, my theory involved the results not really being conclusive, but her reaching the worst possible conclusion and assuming it was "definite".

And like I said, I dismissed the theory anyway on account of attempting logic when talking about a Wiseau script. :P
