Yeah, it was honestly worth watching in the theater. It was especially awesome in IMAX, because the movie filled the whole screen - Hometree really did look like one big goddamn tree when it filled a 3-story size screen. And as someone who struggled to get a nondescript assembly of geometrical shapes I tried to pass off as a "character" in my 3D animation class to simply walk two steps, the achievement they made here with the CGI  - especially the facial expressions - absolutely blew me away. Sufficient to say, I don't think I would have wanted to have been in the same theater as Robert Zemeckis when he watched this movie. The crying I would've been able to stand, but the simultaneous masturbation...

With that said, I will say watching the movie for the second time definitely exposed some of the flaws of this movie. But in my opinion, compared to other movies *cough*Transformers 2*cough*, those flaws didn't really get in the way of me enjoying the movie much.

Does anybody know when Mighty Jack (http://mightyjackmst.com/) usually updates his website? I'd like to hear his thoughts on the AVATAR riff before I make any purchases.

As one of the 10 people who never watched it in theaters, should I watch it unriffed first?

And by "Watch it unriffed" I mean "Sit and subject myself to the overdone eviro-hippie-ass- Bulls*** with a razorblade on wrist ready to end it all at a moments notice while this turd defecates its message on my TV Screen"?

I'll dissent and say, yes. go ahead and watched it unriffed first. Watching a movie riffed will always alter your perception of a film and without a viewing of the non-riffed version in your memory, you'll never really be able to enjoy the film unriffed and for some films, that would be unfortunate.

Note: I wasn't a big fan of Avatar, but I still would suggest watching it first without the guys. At best, you might enjoy it. At worst, you'll notice stuff that annoys you in the film that the guys didn't.

I think if you read his post he's already made up his mind on what he thinks of the movie, so I can't see him gaining anything by watching it un-riffed.

Yeah, I don't think it'd even be possible to enjoy it going in with that kind of insane attitude.

yeah i watched it. Yeah it was hippie garbage, but visually impressive. I give it a 5/10. Now tomorrow to watch it riffed..

Well after checking the price on the movie. I think I'll wait till the "special edition" yall' are talking about comes out and the normal one drops in price. I try and budget myself a lot. And ~$20 for a movie I really don't feel like watching is way too much.

Note to the nitpickers, almost all of the movies I got for riffs were gotten out of the $5 bin.

Snapscape

This is the most boring Rifftrax I've heard to date. The lines are mediocre. They need to make fun of movies that actually suck, like The Lovely Bones.

ShadowDog

I don't think I've ever disagreed more strongly with any stated opinion ever.  Well, okay, I disagreed more when somebody stated that Madonna was hawt.  But that was the only time.

But each to their own.  The Lovely Bones would make a great riff.

Yeah, I can really see them riffing on a movie about the murder of a child.

Don't forget the implied attempted child rape.

I didn't want to get into a thing about it since it is implied and not explicitly shown, but yeah, that too.

Then again, they kind of joked about "that part" of Hounddog during Twilight: New Moon....

Haha one of the scientists is the fortune teller from Drag me to Hell, I was waiting for the guys to say something about it. Stu from Drag Me to Hell was also in Star Trek, I love when the riff streams cross like that.
