I still don't get the Cameron haters, he made a typical summer blockbuster, a mindless fun ride, it's not like he's the only one doing that.

Oh I don't hate him.  He's just been very public with his statements about what he feels about people who know that "global warming" is a crock of shite.  He publically states that such people are poopyheads, I refuse to patronize his business.  All's fair.

I still like Aliens.

I don't get how people can think this was a political movie in any way.  The movie was a psychological thriller, possibly one of the best ever made because it is so subtle in it's delivery.

You have Jake, someone who has suffered from a crippling injury.  Already traumatized by this, his only family member dies.  His mind totally breaks down and creates this fantasy world where he slowly drives out all semblance of his sanity (portrayed by the humans and specifically Quaritch).  He imagines a world where he is healthy and can do anything.


Seriously.  Blue cat people?  Floating mountains?  you took that seriously?

I don't take the movie seriously - I'll never see it, probably.  What I take seriously is stuff like this:

"I want to call those deniers out into the street at high noon and shoot it out with those boneheads. Anybody that is a global-warming denier at this point in time has got their head so deeply up their ass I'm not sure they could hear me."

He wants to shoot me because I don't subscribe to his religion.  That's fine.  I'll keep my science-sullied dollars away from his wallet, and like I said, we're both happy.  Why would I want to give $$ to someone who loudly announces that he thinks I'm a jerk?
