Not sure that design says "Godzilla" to me, but its a hell of a lot more badass than the Tristar version.  With a little tweaking I think that could be a great design.  Now if that can also be put into a good movie...we'll have to wait and see.

Maybe it's just dorks, but I got the impression that people don't like fun movies anymore. So I don't know why they would make Godzilla again. It's not like you can make it good or dramatic. It's just a dumb movie series for casual weekend viewing; something that barely exists these days. To get any notice, they'd have to make it about how a young Godzilla's parents were killed by a skyscraper.

Doctor Who?

I get the feeling Bratpop has never seen the first movie.  It's the only monster movie that is better then King Kong.

They remade King Kong and it was dumber than a soggy box of tenderizing mallets. Doesn't really matter how good anyone thinks the first movie in an endless series is, since it has obviously been proven impossible to replicate.

I like the new design, but then I didn't have a problem with the Tristar design. It's that he didn't BEHAVE like Godzilla, and the movie around him was so horrible (which is saying something given the other Godzilla movies after the first one). I am just hoping for a fun movie that I can freakin' SEE and doesn't insult my intelligence!

If they did Cloverfield from the point of view of the military, and no shaky cam, then it would have been perfect. But noooo...

They can use motion capture and have someone like Andy Serkis play Godzilla, then make the CGI look as much like a big rubber suit as they possibly can.  Also, he should squish Bambi.

Whoah...That's almost a Chinese dragon in the face there.

I was thinking Bahamut from the Final Fantasy series.

I'd love to see a Japanese edit of King Kong where they randomly cut to shots of a Japanese Raymond Burr saying "Yes, I see" in Japanese.

First of all, don't insult my box.  It's great and it keeps my mallets moist.

Also, you seem to assume that it's trying to replicate the movie, than trying to something different and unique with it, using the character and the familiar scenarios as a jumping off point.

I like it.  Or at least the part visible.

Silly. That's like going to Transformers 3 and chanting "Please don't suck, please don't suck."

They released a couple of Godzilla box sets here last month that I've been working my way through, rediscovering the awesome cheese of the movies has been a joy.
