Yeah....it's one of the precious few things about this "saga" that follows logic.

Doctor Who?

That is what confused me,i wasn't expecting logic.

Doctor Who?

I just thought of something.  In two or three years time the $2 bins in used DvDs stores are going to be full of copies of these movies that the stores can't sell, aren't they.

Possibly, but that's more for the "anticipated" titles that disappoint their core audience.  These are popular among the girls they are aimed at, so they get snatched up for now.  Their presence in the discount bins depend on if the manufacturers know when to stop.  Its not quite the same as Superman Returns, which was expected to sell like mad when so much of the geek crowd shunned it.  The only way stores can possibly get rid of all the Superman Returns dvds is to take a lesson from the ET Atari game.  (Start digging, I'll tell you when the hole's deep enough.)

Doctor Who?

I think we are going to see a lot of copies traded in towards the purchase of what ever the next movie that is big with girls.

2.  They know their tweener audience is probably not going to stick with this thing for a very long time, so they're exploiting it as fast as they can.  Kudos for recognizing their own evanescence.

Yeah, that's actually the first thing I thought when I heard about this. They need to get it all out there before these kids mature a little and realize how inferior Twilight is to all the other vampire-centric media that Meyer supposedly didn't rip off.

TRUE TRUE TRUE you cant even tell these people that all this crap is stolen and watered down ..someone resintly told me that the only real vamipers are "you know like in twlight and stuff like that " puke!!!!

Ah, dammit.

It seems to me like the werewolves in Twilight were based more on the Incredible Hulk than Werewolf mythology though.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

I still haven't seen New Moon yet, and loath as I am to defend Stephanie Meyer it sounds like her werewolves are borrowed more from southwestern Native American mythology than European folklore, which is kind of cool in my book.

Tripe

Yeah they seem like Skin Walkers basically (minus the pelt requirement) which would make sense since they're Native Americans.
