I always wondered how often they had to go in for recording. Also, do they only write on their own at home, or do they do communal writing sessions via Skype or something to simulate the "MST3K writers room"?

From what they have said, They split the movie up into sections, each one taking one, write on their own and commune when they get back together in CA

I really would love to see a behind the scenes style featurette of Rifftrax.  They could add it in with a DVD release of some public domain movie.
