As happy as I am to see the triple win for Transformers (well deserved, 'bots, well deserved), I'm still ticked a bit to see Hilton's win for Repo brought up again. I've said it before and I'll say it again, she really wasn't that bad in that movie. All things considered, she was pretty good.

Agreed. Although the movie was kind of a hit or miss sort of thing for me. I was expecting to cringe when she was on screen... only to find myself thinking she wasn't horrible (still not good mind you). I'm just glad they didn't give her a big singing number at the end. Speaking of... is anyone else annoyed with the new hollywood movie "Repomen" coming out that pretty much looks exactly like Repo Genetic Opera?

I thought the same thing.

So Sandra Bullock won "Best Actress" and "Worst Actress" in the same year.  How weird is that?

This is truly a sign of the Apocalypse when such a contradiction occurs.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

And she accepted them both in person. I think she should have had a big wagon to hand out DVDs at the Oscars.

WORST SCREENPLAY: "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" written by Ehren Kruger & Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman, based on Hasbro's Transformers Action Figures

I find the "LOLZ the movie is based on toys" tone of this weird....

::)

That's the legal full credit for the screenplay.  They couldn't leave that part off if they wanted to any more than Kruger or Orci's name.

Blame Hasbro.

Oh, I do.

Besides, how is it "based on Hasbro's Transformers Action Figures" when they don't look a thing like the toys they supposedly to base them off of. They don't want them based on the toys themselves, because they want to make new toys to sell. So shouldn't it be  "based on the new toyline that came out after the movie"?

Hey do you really think Bay could have come up with the idea of cars that turn into robots on his own? ;)

Meh. I call shenanigans on the Worst Actress of The Decade award. From all indications, The Hottie and The Nottie was dreadful, but all Paris Hilton did in House of Wax was be annoying and then get killed, and her turn in Repo! The Genetic Opera wasn't half-bad (and I am NOT a fan of that film). Sounds to me like people voted for her because she's Paris Hilton; unfortunately, the award wasn't for Most Irritating Celebrity of The Decade.

Why are people so upset about this movie "not being true to it's roots" when anything else can be ripped apart and if you complain you're called names?

I would be perfectly fine if it were not true to its roots as long as it was a good movie. Because the movie sucked so bad... people are just trying to find answers as to why. Unfortunately, the reason is not that it wasn't true to the original story, but because michael bay can't make a coherent film. I think it is more than deserving of its title since he has more resources than most director's out there.

Can you and Dr. Who? please decide between yourselves which of you is 'the misunderstood martyr who can't give their wickle opinion without the big ol' meanies being mean'?  I usually don't read posts by either of you but it seems every second one I glance at is about how you can't state your opinion (usually after stating your opinion and having someone DARE to question it) and it's becoming annoying.

Thanks.
