I got nothing against the live show dvd being put out, I mean I am planning to get the Rifftrax live dvd.  I just hope it doesn't replace the studio ones.

I would much rather buy a live performance of a riff I already have a nice studio version of.

Does the Cit Tit live DVD come with the opening acts as extras too?
FINE

Well I'll have time to here your reviews about this one before I come home from Mexico in January and decide whether or not to purchase this one.. :-\

But who the hell releases a live dvd anyway?

I am so glad to see that. First because my wife didn't get to see that show and second because I may not get to see the Christmas show and if this is coming out on DVD, it means that there's a good chance of the new show coming out eventually, too.

The one thing that sucks about doing it live is there are no silhouette sight gags like in the studio.  However I had no real problems with it other than the Titans volume could have been turned up a little bit.

Here is the new trailer:

The picture in picture is ok. Still not sold on hearing the audience.
There are a lot of really good riffs in this. (I particularly like the "can of whoopass" line by Frank). But mostly, it is so good to hear Trace riffing. I love his voices and characterizations. PLEASE DO A RIFFTRAX, TRACE!

And the balding old guy fighting in the karate training reminded me a lot of Jim Carrey in In Living Color:

I'll pass.

Just say no to audience laugh tracks.

I would not really call it a laugh track.   Laugh tracks are when sitcoms TELL you what should be funny and you should laugh.   This was actual, spontaneous audience laughter.

It REALLY does have the seeing it live vibe.

Rude

...

When i saw CT live, i had the unfortunate experience of sitting near someone who laughed out loud at every single joke. I mean, what do these guys average per minute? Ten or twenty jokes? It's a lot of jokes, i know that much. And not every single one of them is screamingly funny.

That said, i really don't mind hearing the audience. It is a live performance afterall. I just don't see what's interesting in watching people read their scripts. Part of the fun of Rifftrax, and CT to a lesser extent, is the illusion that these guys are cracking these jokes for the first time... for me anyway. At the live show you can get swept up in the actual experience, but on DVD it just looks awkward. Maybe they should've punched up the physical performances a little bit or something? I don't know.

You see it as a negative... I see that as a positive.

I agree with Rude.  The way they look now, it looks like they might just launch into a rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody.

I like the sight gags since that plays more to Joel's strength.  He was always a lot more visual than Mike and that was the one thing that separated CT from Rifftrax.  I love both but I like how they play a bit differently.

k1

I'm waiting to see what people think first.  Then I might.  I was really hoping for a studio version of this one since I had heard good things about it.

Ditto k1..
I got time anyways (January 9 when I return from Mexico) to make a decision..
