Hey there's nothing wrong with a quivering pie.

So I saw the two pack of Twilight inaction figures yesterday in Borders. Damn that girl needs a string on her back you can pull to hear her groan "Braaaains"

Probably more life-like than the real thing.

I think the best part of all this Twilight hating is that the two main stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are actually on our side about this whole thing. They only signed up for the money and can't stand the book's popularity or the fans. Pattinson has actually inserted thinly veiled insults to the fans during his interviews, which is why I actually still respect this guy despite playing such a stupid role.
Dammit, Maverick! Why don't you play by the rules?!

"Joel, what's a Harringway?"
"About a pound."

I watched Twilight for the fifth time on Saturday, after reauthoring the newest Twilight iRiff by The Angry Gibbons.  I don't like this movie, but I don't hate it, especially not with near the animosity of a lot of some people.  I think it's just because the Twilight series is just a cliche.  I mean, brooding angst, seduction, attraction to Edward's bad boy nature, attraction to vampires in general?  It's all been done before.  It never did more than slightly annoy me in the past, it won't now.

I guess if I were completely inundated with Twilight exposure, I'd feel differently.  I look at it as another boring movie that some people don't like.  No.. it's the bad movies that everyone insists are awesome tremendous movies that bug me the most.  A bad movie that everyone insists is great--a thing I like to call "Lisa-ing a movie"--that gets my goat.

I really think the only correct way to like Twilight is in the ironic sense. Ninety-nine percent of the series is poorly recycled material, afterall. I could understand genuine interest if there was anything unique or original about it. As such, I agree with most in that the series itself doesn't bug me so much as the rapid fans who really think it's good and has a place amongst better written vampire lore. I keep suspecting they may be the butt of some massive, marketing joke and anyone who likes it  ironically gets it.

This is true, and it does make it tough to hate the guy. Especially in the interviews where there's nothing hidden about it, and he just comes out and insults the character and series.

Twilight... exactly what happens when Hollywood wants to please every teenage girl and goth kid stereotype demographic across the world. Sigh... I hate you Hollywood... I really really do.  :)
