OMG Guinea Pigs!!

I've been waiting for a long, long time.

Anyway, I guess this is my intro - My name is Julie, and I teach geology at a university and I also work as an animal handler at a zoo, and I'm a homebrewer in my spare time.   My favorite Rifftrax are both LOTRs so far (though I'm probably also the only person here who actually LIKED the movies   :o ), but Roadhouse and 300 were also pretty epic (wait, do I just enjoy laughing at shirtless men?  Yes... I do).  My favorite MST3K was Space Mutiny (I know, very original, right?) and I think Michael J. Nelson is hot as hell, especially while doing the bee dance.  No, I'm not a furry, by the way, I apparently just like men who dance like bees.  I admittedly was a latecomer to MST3K (I really don't watch much TV and so rarely caught it), but have been watching Rifftrax from the very beginning.  So, there.   :P

I don't know how much I have to add to the forum, but I will whine constantly until the Return of the King Rifftrax is on my computer.  Thank you for your time.

And what the heck is wrong with this guy?  :gouge:

Welcome, I support your crusade for the RotK RiffTrax

(I, too, liked the LotR movies)

Me too (on both counts). I have no doubt they will do ROTK eventually, the LOTR riffs seem to be big sellers.

It's on the list of things to do, but they're trying to avoid doing one type of movie really quickly after doing one that's similar. They were doing a bunch of superhero movies for a while and had to do something else because they got burnt out on them.

Yeah, count me in, because my favourite Rifftrax are either those done to screamingly bad films or way overwrought and overpopular ones.  This counts as one of the latter.  Plus, I'm a completist, and they did the first two.

Actually I remember Mike and Kevin saying that they were Tolken fans from way back and enjoyed the Peter Jackson films as well. Bill is fairly new to the books, but I think he said he enjoyed them while he was "researching" for The Two Towers. One of the good things about Rifftrax is that they can provide humorous "roast" style commentary to films that they enjoy watching.

I wholeheartedly support a RotK Rifftrax. I loved the other two (still giggle every time I think of Mike referring to Gollum as a "moody little cuss"). I think it'd be a good one to go after now that they cleared the palette with the Live show and then Fast and Furious. Time to delve into Tolkien again, I say.

And don't hand this one off to someone else for a Rifftrax Presents, guys. I'll forgive Batman Forever, not only because it was funny, but because of the Carrey factor, as well. But after all the LotR jokes in MST3K over the years, M,K, & B owe it to the fans to see this through.

Now if we could only get them to do 2001 . . .

Now that would be a tough one to riff. There's so little dialogue for most of the film they'd have to try and get around it by doing a series of audio host segments at various points. I imagine 2010 would be a lot easier since it's more of a "normal" film.

True. It's hard to riff on interminable establishing shots and breathing.

There would be a lot of Kevin going, "OK movie, we can wait as long as you can."

That's what I'm afraid of too!  Just one more, guys.  Pound it out.  Oh, and then do The Hobbit, whenever that comes out.

OmegaR - I think your video will suffice in the meanwhile, however.  Very funny!   :D

They did just fine with "The Room".  :D
