I learned that any scriptwriter who lets the big bosomed woman die before the shirtless beefcake is a fucking moron.

Very horrible mistake and the directory should be killed.   She was blonde and did not have a throw back 'fro or a mustache

I leanred the father from "Family Ties" became a starship captain that lost TWO ships before becoming a Tremor's worm killer.

And she died MOMENTS after being in the revealing outfit! Yet we get the rest of the whole movie with a Big McLargeHuge wannabe shirtless. The director HAD to be gay.

I learned that you can have a "Runaway Reactor" inside a self contained, space faring vehicle. Where that reactor is going to go is anyone's guess.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

I learned that before trusting a wall with your life, you maybe wanna check to see if it can stand up to a weak nudge.

I learned that in the face of death, shirtlessness is an acceptable substitution for a black armband.

I learned that in a racially homogeneous cast, the attractive person is the first to die.

I learned that I don't want to think about how inbred that planet is going to get in a generation or two.

I learned that it only takes a half dozen of something to qualify it planetary nomenclature.

I learned that from now on Earth shall be called the Planet of the Labradoodles.

If learned that a triceratops just as soon kill you as blink
I thought they were herbavores...
Kill You!

Well, they kill you after you dig up their eggs and start making plans for very large omelets.

I learned that in the future, "corporate executives," are always whiny, greasy, incompetents that no corporation (except AIG)  would advance beyond office manager.

That some actresses are hired for how they fill out the costume, NOT how they say their lines.  These are the first to die, MOST of the time after they have removed their costume.  We call this the Galaxy of Terror (GOT) effect.

That in the future, Starship crews are less competent than the crew down at Jiffy-Lube.  Yet, for some reason, multi-million dollar space ships are entrusted to their care.

And finally, we learned that Land of the Lost (70s TV show) did a pretty good job with their special effects, given the limited budget a Saturday morning TV show had back then.  I mean, it is not like they were a feature film, or anything.
And that's all the foreshadowing we can afford.

I learned that it is possible to have a side stitch, a charley horse and shin splints after running four feet.

They discuss this on commentary track on the Anniversary edition DVD. Apparently, her part was the last to be cast, and they didn't have time for a re-write. Still pisses me off though. At the very least, he could've let her live and walk around with the other actors with no lines for the rest of the movie.

Another thing they mention is that her swimming scene uses a stunt double because it was filmed a year later and they could'nt find her.

Doctor Who?

I learned that I need one more skull to make my room a liar.

I learned that coming up with names for the characters is not part of a screenwriter's job.

I learned that Jim is a god when compared to the rest of us.

I learned that this movie came out a year AFTER Star Wars ???
