There hasn't been a Wayans involved in these "spoof" movies since Scary Movie 3, and even that was only in an acting capacity.

Oh yeah I forgot, it was from "2 of the 6 writers." I love how they keep saying that like it's a GOOD thing to advertise. It doesn't question the quality of the material at all.

Date Movie, Epic Movie, Scary Movie. Just come out with all of them in a big box set and call it "Shitty Movie."

i couldn't agree more. i think the younger wayans are HACKS. my $ .00002

Scary Movie 1 & 2 were ok.. not great.. just ok.

Anyone that keeps going into those movies that try and glom onto the success of other movies simply by lampooning them is always going to be disappointed.

Considering that trailers show the "best parts" of these types of movies anyway, why watch them since you already know the catch phases that every 13 year old in the nation is going to be reciting for the next 2 weeks.

One thing I don't get is what on earth Borat and Nacho Libre are doing in this movie. I wouldn't really call those movie epics. I have a feeling they're just throwing those in for some cheap laughs.
Every laugh they attempt to get in this movie is impossibly cheap.

...and forced don't forget forced.
This reminds me of when Mom and I went to see Mel Brooks "To Be Or Not To Be" based soely on the trailer, it too had all the funniest stuff in the trailer.  I love Mel's stuff usually, but there wasn't anything good about this one...

... also, if the above theory interest you then check out the dvd commentary on Date Movie ... it made me feel like less of a idiot for renting it ... (and yes I will stop pushing this cometary so hard -this is the 3rd time lol )

It's just a nice change to see critics put their money wear their mouth is in my humble opinion

They've done some good stuff. I love Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood. And Marlon was really good in Requiem, so they can do decent stuff when they want.

Seriously, how could this movie make it to number 1 at the box office?  I blame you, the movie-going public!

Maybe if not so many movies were made by these "independent" studios and had wide releases, I'd actually go to the movies now and then.

Kevin had it exactly right when he and Mike were at Dragon*Con in 2002; he said, quite emphatically, that if you want the quality of movies to improve, one way is to not see ANYTHING on opening weekend.

It's definitely a valid point.  Just because the studios churn this stuff out, doesn't mean we have to go watch it.  There are other things to do.  Parks to play in.  Stuff like that.

My thoughts exactly. If letters from Iwo Jima had a much wider release, then maybe it would be #1 instead.
I am Ambassador Phantom, from the planet Krankor! I am rapidly approaching your planet... in the warship, which you have just seen. I will arrive tomorrow night at precisely eight o'clock. At that time I shall make my wishes known to you. You will obey them... or die! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

I always tell my friends with great gusto that when you pay for a movie YOU ARE CASTING YOUR VOTE FOR THAT MOVIE. You can't tell me you saw Epic Movie or Date Movie or The Covenant or whatever crap is out because you're BORED. That's not good enough. See only good movies and I swear movies will get better again.

Movie producers seem to go through the path of least resistance to get to their goal or profit. Least resistance = least quality.

With that, I sadly admit I saw "Night at the Museum".  :-

I was bored.

In the words of Jay Sherman
"If the movie stinks, don't go!"

I'm glad my inner moral compas kept me from seeing this film, plus the fact that I only half enjoyed and was half repulsed by the first scary movie but didn't want to admit it for fear of seeming like a wuss in front of my friends.

This movie is not worth the acts of sexual violents it commits upon my childhood. And I don't think a disturbing morality play set in a chocolate factory backdrop qualifies as "epic".

Yeah, anything that tries to be funny by poking fun of other movies is bound to be crap...umm, wait a second  ;)
