I saw one of the new versions of Metropolis on the big screen at Canal Place in New Orleans. It was quite lovely

Man I wish i could have seen that.

In no particular order:

Metropolis
2001
Grand Illusion
The Maltese Falcon
The Red Shoes
Suspiria
The Passion of Joan of Arc
The Third Man
North By Northwest
Clerks

And while not a classic, I'd be really interested to see Tideland on the big screen.

I've been fortunate enough to see a good number of classics on the big screen (saw 2001 in 70MM was pretty awesome) but some i would still like to see

Planet of the apes.
ghostbusters
King kong vs godzilla (uncut)
Metropolis (once the full version is released)
dawn of the dead
the fly (84)
eraserhead
good the bad and the ugly (saw duck you sucker and OUATITW were amazing!)
This is Cinerama
Manos the Hands of Fate (so much is lost in the translation to small screen!)
MICROPHONE MANIAC COMING SOON!!

I actually saw The Fly too, Cronenberg was there. It was my first time seeing it. It was pretty great. Hah, Manos would be hilarious. I'd just like to see what people would show up.

I wouldn't pay to see Blade Runner... but I'm going to see it for free at the Museum of Modern Art on the 19th of the this month.  I get in free with my school ID.  Thought I'd rub that in a little bit there.  I really hope it's a print and not some digitized piece of garbage.  But then again, it's free, so I can't really complain.

I saw a print of Manhattan there a while ago.  It was scratched to hell but it was great.

Didn't that just do a theatrical run a year or so ago - "The Final Director's Cut" - before it came out on DVD?

BBQ Platypus

I don't really feel like listing ten, but I'll list a few:

Lawrence of Arabia
2001: A Space Odyssey
Terminator 2
Evil Dead 2
Blade Runner

Urm...does The Room count as a "classic film?"

Normally I would agree.  But I've noticed that seeing a comedy you don't like with an audience that likes it makes the film even more annoying.  I spend the whole time thinking "Why are you laughing?  It's really not that funny.  He just fell down; people fall down all the time.  He didn't even fall down well, like Chaplin.  He just sort of tripped and then was on the ground.  What happened to standards people?!  Geeze."

MontyServo

I wish there was a theater here in town that showed old films on a regular basis.  It is mostly hit and miss.

Or that studios would reissue older titles in theaters more often.

I did notice that Fathom Events is having a newly restored showing of The Wizard Of Oz next month.  I might check that out.

I did see MST3K the Movie in theaters twice, but I'd pay to see it again on the big screen.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail comes around here every so often, and I've seen that one several times (I used to own a 16mm print of that one that I would watch at home on a "big screen" until I sold it on Ebay after my projector crapped out.)

My big screen wish list?
Anything by the Marx Brothers.
Blazing Saddles
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence
The Evil Dead
Phantasm
MST3K episodes (especially Girls Town)
All That Jazz
any of the Billy Jack films

Johnny Unusual

Classic is apparently subjective.  Not ragging on choices but classic?

Anyhoo (and whether these are classics are debatable too):

The Jerk
The Muppet Movie
The Princess Bride
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (Either the original or the first remake)
Suspiria
Barton Fink ("We're going to sneak into an R-rated movie")
Aguirre, the Wrath of God (Haven't seen the original yet)
The Thing
Jaws
The Shining

THE QUEEN!!!

ooooo, Muppet Movie----good choice. Instead of picking 10, I think I'd just go see the ten everyone else picks, thereby being able to see more. :)

Army of Darkness, baby! On the big screen, in a cool old classic theater! I am not missing this for anything! I love Pheonixville!
