9)The Third man
8)The first three Star wars movies
7)From Russia with love
6)The Birds
5)North by Northwest
4)the Adventures of Robin Hood
3)The Godfather parts 1&2
2)Citizen Kane
1)Lawrence of Arabia

None.  I prefer the comfortable chairs of my living room.  I would pay good money to prevent the airing of Godfather though.

I've actually been lucky enough to see some of my favorite films on the big screen which included:

2001: A Space Odyssey
Alien
Aliens
Blade Runner (The Final Cut)
Psycho
Vertigo
E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial
Jurassic Park
Casino

and some others but I'd love to see Back to the Future 1 and 2, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly and Pulp Fiction. Out of all those films listed earlier, of course 2001 was the one that benefited the most from the big screen. Alien, Psycho and Jurassic Park were really great too.

A lot of those get shown on the big screen at college events or local theaters.  The Heights Theater a few blocks away from my house has shown Aliens, Lawrence of Arabia, Adventures of Robin Hood, 2001, and a few other biggies just in the last 3 or 4 years.

I missed out last year to see Dead Alive on the big screen at the Colonial in Pheonixville. I hope they do that again.

I haven't seen it yet, but since it is supposed to be really good but is being dumped straight to video: Trick or Treat.

The chairs are softer, and more comfortable, and they recline.

People are making me feel old. I have seen most of the movies that you guys have listed on the big screen on their first run and I am only 37.

I'm 51...imagine how I feel.

I have seen:

  • MST3K: The Movie
  • Clash of the Titans, Golden Voyage of Sinbad, the first six Star Trek fims , Raiders of the Lost Ark, all three SW:TOT, Alien, Aliens, ET, Time Bandits, Brazil, Jurassic Park, 2001 - all on a 70mm screen (along with Tommy, Xanadu, Top Secret, The Naked Gun, Live and Let Die, Godzilla 1985, The Black Hole, The Last Starfighter, Flash Gordon and anything else I saw at the either the 163rd/Patio theater or the 167th Street Twin across from Mr. Coney Island in North Miami before they tore them both down)
  • Back to the Future
  • Godfather I & II
  • Night of the Living Dead
  • Fantasia
  • Mary Poppins
  • Dumbo (before they censored it)
  • Phantom of the Opera (Lon Chaney - at the old Olympia Theater in downtown Miami with a organist playing his own score for the film on the newly refurbished pipe organ for Halloween)
  • Batman (with Adam West) and Disney's Jungle Book at the drive in as a kid - sitting on the front bumper of the car in our pajamas.
  • And Gone With the Wind when it was re-released during the 1970's.  Some friends and I went and smuggled in three pounds of pistachio nuts. The theater floor looked like that bit in The Naked Gun when they were on stake out.

What I'd LOVE to see on the big screen?

Metropolis - the almost complete copy that they just found in Argentina.
Metropolis - the Georgio Moroder version
King Kong (1933, of course)
Dracula (without Phillip Glass upstaging the thing)
Freaks
Forbidden Planet
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (with or without Raymond Burr)
All About Eve
The Thing (Howard Hawks version)
North by Northwest

And if I'm showing my age, I don't care.  At least, I've made it this long.  Jeez...I've out lived Michael Jackson...

TheBatman

Star Wars
Akira
Evil Dead II
Enter The Dragon
Drunken Master II
The Warriors
Blade Runner
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Terminator 2
Animal House

I saw one of the new versions of Metropolis on the big screen at Canal Place in New Orleans. It was quite lovely
