I also never saw what was so bad about RotJ, apart from being the weakest of a basically solid original trilogy, I think it holds up fine. While I'm not going to argue with a lot of the legitimate complaints,  I think many of them boil down to playing monday morning quarterback as opposed to what was actually presented being awful on it's own merit. I would say there is a fine line between "it could have been better" vs "what they gave us was shit".

I never had much of an issue with the Ewoks... For all the cacophony of "cute teddies to sell dolls!", Lucas certainly didn't pull back from showing them dead and/or dying and/or generally getting their asses kicked. Lots of people love to point out how silly it was for the Ewoks to defeat the Empire... except,  well, that never happened. They had a momentary upper-hand due to the element of surprise and that's about it. They were getting severely routed until Chewie stole the AT-ST and turned the tide.

I've never really had much of an issue with the Ewoks either.  They were a bit silly, but not really much more than any of the other alien races in SW.  My only real issue with ROTJ is that it feels disjointed.  I enjoy the hell out of certain parts, but it doesn't really come together as a naturally progressing film like the first two did.

I wish!

I stand by my question.  What's wrong with Salacious Crumb?  Was it because he was annoying?  An invention added to the third movie?  He didn't add anything to the plot?  Really, what?

Really, it's the laugh/cackle/screech.

And it's a good example of a big part of my hatred for ROTJ - after the relatively adult and mature movie we got in Empire, ROTJ was teddy bears, cackling muppets, and hamming it up.

Yes...but when was that filmed?  Before or after the post-Jedi break?  If they looked like old notebooks they could have been aged by Lucas' prop department, you know.

Well, sure, but that's a level of duplicity that I'm not willing to credit Georgie with.  The context, from what I remember, indicated original notes.

And isn't there a site somewhere that purports to have an old old draft and some old old production sketches and paintings that are still heavily "old story"-focused, of which the Death Star theme is only a part, but again has some similar names that we didn't get until the prequels?

I've been into the Pussers tonight

Where did you find that?

Liquor store up the road.  Has a fine selection of rum, good scotches, etc.  Good prices too.

I would never drink anything made by a guy named Buford.

And where are you, because I can't find Pussers for love nor money in Michigan.

Oh and I love the Crumb laugh, I used to have a audio clip of it play to accompany the dialog box informing users of elementary mistakes when they were using the web submission form at work.

Really?  I knew a guy back when I lived in Ann Arbor who used to drink the stuff.  I myself moved  from lovely Ann Arbor, MI to lovely Columbia Heights, MN a few years ago.

Doctor Who?

Is all this stuff about drinking from an added scene that is going to be in the next SE of ROTJ?

dalem

Heck, a good rum and a good cigar turns every movie into a Special Edition. ;)

But yeah, in the next modification Lucas adds a scene on the Shuttle Tyderium where everyone gets honked and ends up doing a bunch of space-coke off of Chewie's boobs.
