I appreciate everyone's responses. Extremely friendly board. Just downloaded my first rifftrax (star trek v) onto my mp3 and am looking forward to trying it later this week. Went through my boxes of old tapes and realized that I have Fellowship of the Ring too. Will that one sync up allright or was there extra footage on the DVD like Phantom Menace?

SaucyRossy

that should sync up just fine....the only thing is the rifftrax is split into two mp3's do to how long the movie is. Glad we could help!

As long as it is the theatrical release, you should have no problems.

The first time I watched a rifftrax I used a little bookshelf-type audio system for the riff (cd player would accept mp3 cds) and played that thru the small speakers and just let the movie come thru the TV... it worked great! That was in the bedroom. If I were to do the same thing in the big theater room, I'd do pretty much the same thing except the riff would come out of the big system speakers and the movie would come out of the 56" TV stereo speakers.

If I am watching the movie by myself, I use the MP3 over my IPOD and ear buds.   I just play the movie and normal volume on the home theater and adjust the MP3 so it is loud enough.

If folks are over, I put my IPOD in an external speaker and put the speaker on the couch so it appears that they are there.   I imagine burning the MP3 on a CD and playing on a boombox would be the same thing.

Just keep in mind that some of the longer trax won't fit on a CD in normal audio mode.
Unless you have a stereo that supports MP3 CD's.

Ah yes, I forgot to mention that, good point out.   Fortunately, my boombox does.

You mean Eva Pope?  Yeah, I loved her as 'Anya' in "Shadow Man" with Steven Seagal...

Conc

If you're watching the movie on your PC, then Sharecrow will help keep them in sync.

If anybody here is interested in using the new & improved Beta version of Sharecrow, just send me an email.

Thanks,
