I'm beginning to think The Room is actually The Ring; you watch it, and seven days later...

...aw, crap.

WHY WERE THEY WEARING TUXEDOS AND PLAYING FOOTBALL?
WHY DID LISA SAY SHE WAS PREGNANT?
WHAT HAPPENED TO PETER?
WHAT HAPPENED TO CHRIS R?
WHAT HAPPENED TO DOGGIE?
WHY WAS LISA'S MOTHER SO CAVALIER ABOUT HER CANCER?
WHY THE HELL DID THEY INTRODUCE THE DRUG SUBPLOT?
WHY THE HELL DID THEY INTRODUCE THE CANCER SUBPLOT?
WHY LISA WHY PLEASE TALK TO ME!
HOW MUCH PER YEAR DOES "MAKING JOHNNY WANT TO ADOPT YOU" PAY?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!

*has a fatal stroke*

I learned that ...
...even though you're the favorite customer at a Florist, you won't know the owner's dog's name

...humping her dress is a good way to deal with your fiance's betrayal

...if your fiance is dirty dancing with some other guy at your birthday party, then she was "just having fun" and you shouldn't spoil it

..."love is blind" means that you should give your fiance a second chance after cheating

...if the director/star/screenwriter thinks that chickens make a "cheep" sound, no one in the entire production will take him aside and correct him

...if you don't want to marry somebody, and your evil, then tell him your pregnant to "make things interesting"

I just learned that the Music Box Theater reads my thoughts, judging by this email I just got:

Here's a little outside info for to learn...

Everyone makes a big deal about the tape recorder being able to record for days and days, etc...  I have had one of those things.  It's specially made to plug into the phone line and record calls.  Special circuitry allows it to detect whether or not the line is active, and when there's no call it pauses itself.  So that part isn't really the problem.
The real problems are these:
1. He just happened to have one laying around?  (I have had one because I used it in various audio projects years ago, and I had to really search to find one.)
2. It only recorded one call.  There was only one call made to or from that house in the entire time it was on?  No telemarketers or anything?
3. As required by law, those recorders alert both parties on the line to the recording by beeping over the phone line at regular intervals.  And nobody noticed.

edit: I tried looking for my recorder, but couldn't find it.  Since I haven't used it in the last couple times I've moved, I have to assume it's gone.  Oh well.

There's ways around that.

I had a huge argument at a job about that once.  They wanted me to record my calls to people to check my work (I used to call companies to talk to them about their products to see if they might work in informercials).  But they wanted me to not tell them. There had just had an incident where a reporter for the Miami Herald recorded a city commissioner without telling him when this commissioner was telling him why he was about to commit suicide..and the reporter lost his job for it.

I told my company I'd spoken to a lawyer (which I had) and  I'd only do the recording if either I tell the people I'm recording them or the company give me something in writing that they told me that I had to ignore this law or lose my job.

Never had to record my calls again.  But the other people I worked with still did.

So I guess Johnny did all this offscreen then.    Maybe Tommy cut that from the script so we could fit in another sex scene.   Personally, I would rather have seen the commissioner scene.

"Oh hai commissioner".

I dont think any of these "characters" were concerned with legality or morality.

"Oh HAI Lisa, jus' letting you know- Im tapin yoo- ok?"

Hey, the Commissioner's made more sense than Johnny's (you name the scandal, he was about to get busted for it) and was much more dramatic (he walked into lobby of the Miami Herald, asked for the reporter and then blew his brains out right then and there).

I learned that the 2001 Josie and the Pussycats movie was even more underrated than I thought it was. Someone should have quoted one of its best lines at Chris R:

"What's with the initial? It didn't work for Sheila E, it doesn't work for you!".
