Is Brian Blessed playing Odin in the Clash of the Titans remake upcoming THOR movie?

I was going to say the news was awesome at first two, but on recollection, Odin's not a big beefy guy like Blessed; he's supposed to be a stooped old man, isn't he? Gandalf-esque.

This is the Marvel comics version of Odin and Blessed fits the role perfectly.

Alright, I was about to be confused there, Odin in the upcoming Thor movie makes sense.  Odin in a Clash of the Titans remake...wrong pantheon there DG.  I mean unless Odin was crashing a party in Olympus.  "Man, Zeus, you think you have problems with that guy sacrificing his daughter to the sea, you should see the people I have to deal with up north!"

Well, he never did say the latter, did he? It was always "Edna" or "Egbert."  And once, "Edmund."

I loved his part in that, his open despising of his own son was hilarious. Such a great setup for the Blackadder character.

I'll always remember his appearance on Going Live which was the BBC's Saturday morning kids show. They roped him into reviewing videos, one of which was I think Oops!...I Did It Again, at any rate a vid later than Baby One more time but where Britney was still all dewy and colt like.

His review was mostly him talking about how very cute and lovely she was including performing the phwoorrr gesture all with his loud booming voice.

Also, if they make a Hawkman movie he must cameo.

Apparently, it looks like Anthony Hopkins is going to be Odin, instead of Brian Blessed.

I like Hopkins, but Brian Blessed would have been SO MUCH better.

The troubles that The Wolfman is having (changing release dates and re-edits) isn't scaring them off of Hopkins...?
