Good thing this bust didn't happen in the U.S. in six months; half a joint'll be worth $2900.  :)

Why does the fact that the plants were sitting next to his dj decks and Playstation make it into the story?

This kind of '"crime" could be getting him mandatory 10 years or whatever.....

Michael Vick gets less than a year?

Yeah, seems fair.   ::)

One of many great tragedies this country has come to accept. It has been a long used tool to keep alot of non violent people in jail, for obscene amounts of time. And then unable to work and provide themselfs with that background.

So in this story, you have taken a young adult that was paying taxes and being a productive person. And then if they find him guilty, put him into jail and becomes a leech on the state. Producing nothing but his waste of time and life, and forcing the state/country whatever they have there to pay for everything he does for the next x amount of time.

Isn't this one of the rediculously fat kids Harry bribes with the floating cupcakes in the second movie? If he's that fat and ugly, give the kid back his pot.

In the long run I doubt this will hurt his "acting" career in the same way it would an aerospace industry or national security agency job. It's not exactly unusual for "artists" to use mind-altering substances. In the short term, who knows? If he just let's it blow over, everyone will forget it in 6 months or less.

The actual level of his apparent stupidity is pretty astounding, though.

I believe in a struggling economy, the non-essentials are worth less, not more. Hence, they can't sell cars or porn and need bailouts.

"Medical" huh? You'd think it would mellow you out some. Or maybe it does. If so, keep smokin', 'cause I don't want to see you straight.

Being worth less doesn't mean it doesn't cost more. Given the current economic "minds" directing fiscal policy, such inflation is a foregone conclusion.

I'm thinking this is actually the important section of the report:

QuoteWaylett was further arrested on suspicion of production of a Class B drug.

I think the police press release or spokesman probably just let the reporter know the cost of everything seized, but Pot is more fun to focus on if you're a tabloid, rather than the other substance that may or may not sound like a school subject Barbie finds to be hard.

I think marijuana was upgraded to a class B drug some time last year.

B for 'Bong'?? :o

What do these different Class' letters represent over there?

Why?

Oh and looking at this Ketamine is still Class C, now that makes sense.  ::)

In theory it's due to the virulence of the drug, the earlier in the alphabet, the worse the drug is. However what it mostly is determined by is what the punishment will be if you're caught with a given substance. It's asinine.
