These "three riffer" edition DVDs are being put out by Legend Films, just like the solo-riffed editions, right?  So why don't the three-riffer editions include the colorizations like the solo-riffer editions do?

Because the color purists hate colorization?

Not sure, to be honest.

I'm not sure on that one myself...  these were originally to be used as promotional DVDs sold at a particular chain store to drive new clientele to the site and introduce people who might not have heard of RiffTrax before to the product... but I think that didn't quite happen. At least I believe that was the story when I was designing covers and menus etc. for them.  If I'm wrong, someone at RiffTrax headquarters can correct me.

Anyhow... I think it's great regardless of whether it's in B&W or Color, or both... the fact that they are on DVD allows access to many people who might not otherwise be interested because they don't want to spend the time syncing the audio track to the movie themselves.

I guess I was mostly worried because last year I bought some generic brand release of "Little Shop of Horrors" in black & white, and the picture contrast was very poor.  However, I just watched the Legend Films release with Mike's solo riff, and the picture on both the black & white and colored versions was excellent.  I guess it just goes to show you get what you pay for when you buy a $2 dvd.

Well... Legend has a team of restoration pros on the job.   ;)
