But if they riff Twilight then I have to watch it! Oh well, I know I will at some point.

PlayMSTie

Hey, I had to watch it (for reviewing purposes). I want everyone to suffer as much have as enjoyable an experience as I did.

(Personally, I'm still not over Troll 2!  :speechless: )

I guess the inevitable finally happened - they realized that since iRiffs allows ANYBODY to riff, riffing has become completely worthless. So they're just redoing non-Rifftrax, doing a couple of movies they've always wanted to riff, tying up loose ends and calling it quits. Can't say I blame them. I mean, who'd want to compete with those Spider-Man cartoon riffs? You can't top that.

That's right, bratpop. Ah well.

Now that the doors have closed, I guess there's no reason for you to hang around the forums any more.
FINE

bratpop

And no reason for you to go on living. Am I right? Awshucks.

Axnollouse

Personally I think they tried to riff on twilight and have since become sparkly vampires themselves!

Hey, just because anybody can do it doesn't mean anybody can do it well.  Shit, look at open source software.  Anyone can edit the source code and redistribute it, but the result is difficult to use software with no support structure that only appeals to other tech geeks.  Just like most iRiffs are only going to appeal to people who personally know the creator.

Me, I stay away from iRiffs (unless it's an iRiff of a movie already covered by Rifftrax; then I can author both onto the same DVD), simply BECAUSE any Tom, Dick, and Harry can record and upload one without quality control.

A number of very funny iRiffers have already made some names for themselves, and not names like Tom Dick or Harry (ICWXP, Quiptracks, *cough* Riff Raff Theater etc). You should give them a try.

Yes this is true.  I have downloaded the Blame Society's Star Wars track, and The Happening & Jurassic Park from Quiptracks.  They were good, about on par with Rifftrax, although I hate those beeps that Quiptracks uses.

I think the point I was trying to make is that iRiffs can't hope to gain the kind of ground that Rifftrax has, because Rifftrax has big names in riffing backing it, names you can trust.  iRiffs are hit and miss.  Rifftrax are too (Phantom Menace ick), but less.  So the idea that iRiffs will render Rifftrax obsolete is absurd.  That's what I'm trying to say.

I just hope they're not hanging out in teenage girls' rooms at night watching them sleep, or composing goopy love songs.  :speechless:

But see, your thinking bratpop was being serious when he posts..........

If the next Riff is Twilight, they need to forgo the game and announce it already.....

But financially, I wonder if iRiffs is supporting them enough that they don't have to make as many official RiffTrax?

Conor

We've released something a week for the past two months or so, even if people here didn't "count" them.

I certainly didn't take it as such. iRiffs probably makes them enough to cover the extra bandwidth necessary for it.
