The poster makes no sense.

Probably has something to do with their Minnesota background.

Now someone's thinking!   ::)
Uh huh... Minnesota... and Sharks............................................................................................... ???

Yeah, you better watch out for those great lakes sharks... them's HUGE!    ;)
Oh Nelly! Yah, that's a Snapper there! Yah! YAH! yah.. :P

Darth Geek

Try describing the poster with a Minnesota accent:

Well were down there fishin' for walleye on Lake Bemidji.

Walleye? This time a year?

Oh ya. Good this time a year, doncha know. An just as Jasper was finishin' his story about winnin' the 1972 Pike Tournament with a fifty puonder...

The one that he says nearly capsized his boat?

Yup, tells that story every year, he does. Sos Jasper was at the part with the tangled reel, and he doesn't notice his rod goes into the hole. 'Cause he's acting out his struggle, ya know.

But then this here HUGE fish come right out of the ice, nearly made us drop our beers! Jasper 'bout had a fit when he turned around and saw the thing behind him.

Wow, what am awful day!

Ya, didn't catch nuthin'.

I understand that from a shark's point of view, people taste just like bacon...

Lady Kitsch

I remember how late last year people were complaining about how all the Riffs were of new movies.  And now there hasn't been a post-1980s movie since early December!  Not that I'm complaining - I'm thrilled that two of my fave horror films, Night of the Living Dead and Jaws, will now get the full Rifftrax treatment.

Jaws should also be a good example of how a classic film still can have lots of riffable material.  I'm particularly looking forward to the take on crusty old Quint.

Turducken

the real trophy goes to whoever does the best whiney Dreyfus impression.  Maybe one day i'll tell you the story of a friend who was nearly caught peeing on Dreyfus's property. :)

Lemming Howard

I'm wondering how the riffers will deal with the scene where Quint describes the torpedoing of the USS Indianapolis.  That was a real event and if they were to just suspend commenting  I would understand.  To remain silent itself might be regarded as a kind of tribute to those who have sacrificed.  I haven't seen the need before in any other movie that comes to mind.
And I'm worse than Hitler.

Darth Geek

The USS Indianappolis scene will probably be similar to the concentration camp scene in X-men in how they handle the riffing. I wouldn't be suprised if whatever they come up with is the highlight of the Rifftrax.

Turducken

Ok i really hope you were kidding about reverence for the 'Indianapolis' scene... you are talking about a movie that used a real life event for added effect of 'scaring' you... to suggest the riffers would be quiet...idk...   Why the hell do you even watch rifftrax?

Sensitivity is one thing, but wtf.

EXXXXXXCELLENT! I JUST rented this. Should be awesome!

I'm also curious to see how they handle the "shark eats people" scenes...
Oh great, now I know what's gonna happen!!!!  Thanks.
.
My sincere apologies to all. In the excitement of the moment I wasn't thinking clearly and blurted out the fact that...

Heh. Sorry! ;D

Quote from: TheUnabeefer on February 18, 2009, 06:05:02 PMhmm.... this sounds an awful lot like that Jews movie.  There wouldn't happen to be a shark circumcision in this, would there?! Cuz then it might just end up that these are the same movie.
.
Well, Mel Brooks directed, right? So I'm pretty sure there's a shark briss or two in this movie. ;)

Just making an observation about a scene that also explains Quint's shark-hunting obsession,  Regardless of your hopes,  Mike,  Kevin and Bill will do what they will do.  Darth Geek's recall of the Concentration Camp scene in Xmen reminds me that they have handled some scenes with sensitivity without lapsing into solemnity and losing the humorous mood  which is why I "Watch" Fucking Rifftrax.

This is really an awesome pic! You don't by any chance have a larger version, possibly even 4:3? I'd love to use this as the background for my DVD menu.  ;D

I just gotta post this pic as well...

Piobman

I'm sure riff martian can give you something better... but here is his image that would fit a 4x3 menu. You really don't need any higher resolution for a dvd menu.
