The following isn't a condemnation of PSCD, but of this little bit of dumb here. ^

May as well be about me because I agree with him.   That's why I enhanced the bit about Whedon.  BTVS doesn't count as sci-fi, IMHO.

But that's okay.  There are people who love the original Battlestar Galactica...still.  And not in an ironic, kitchy way.  There's no accounting for taste.

If he had given some solid reasons as to why he doesn't like Firefly, I might take him seriously. But no, he just gives the usual "OMG, Firefly is stupid and your stupid for liking it" which is absurd. It's childish. It's retarded.

Saying the fans deserve to die for liking somehing is unbelievably stupid. I can't even begin to fathom the amount of stupid that is floating around in this man's brain for him to even type these words somewhere. And if you, PSCD, seriously believe that I and other Firefly fans deserve to die because we like a show than you need to seek counseling immediately.

Excuse me?  All you people who convienently take things literally when you want to.  Do you think the part about the thousands of kittens dying when Whedon was literal too?

And you say that there are no "solid reason" in his opinion piece, what part of "the mind-wrenching stupidity" and "wooden, two-dimensional acting" confuses you?  Or are you like most Browncoats and you ignore anything that doesn't back up your single-minded view of this crappy show?

Get over yourselves.

Hmm, a little touchy are we? Perhaps you should come back when you've calmed down a bit. You seem to be the one with single minded view here, just spewing forth the hate with no clear rational thought behind it.

Killing me won't bring back your Goddamned honey!

I think Firefly isn't a subject - along with Family Guy and Transformers - we should be discussing on the board any more.  :)

And this (from Bushflash.com):

someone on a website who appently has no perspective agrees with you? It must be true then.

QuoteThe fandom is why I hate it.

Of all the pointless hating on this board I find this kind the most bizarre.

Aren't we supposed to base our opinions on things we've experienced? :)

Anyway, as I said, I don't really care anymore. I don't like it, but nobody makes me watch it or hear about it, so whatever.

Anyway, back on topic.

I watched Zoolander last night.

I used to think this movie was hilarious.  Now it's just mildly amusing.  Wonder what happened there?  The best scene is still the gasoline fight.

I'm the opposite way with Zoolander.  The first time I saw it, I was definitely a meh at best.  Upon subsequent viewing, I've found myself laughing a good deal.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

ScottotD

Much like Austin Powers 2 I find myself skipping to the villan's scenes when I rewatch Zoolander.

Definately agree on the petrol fight though.

Serenity

An interesting take on overzealous internet fandom douchebaggery and the even more annoying phenomenon of combating overzealous internet fandom douchebaggery by being a complete and utter fuck tool. I thought the acting was wooden and all fans of this movie should be thrown into an industrial sized vat of Nair.

I didn't know Firefly fans were at risk of buttery-smooth thigh cancer.

Let's move away from the Serenity/Firefly stuff.

Personally, I think fans of Zoolander are retarded cuntbags whose only other form of entertainment is raping their dog and molesting small rodents.

Buttery-smooth with a two week period of rashes and painful itching and burning.

no no... those are salt and vinegar chips... I get confused sometimes as well....

People who like things I don't like are at best inbred idiots and only slightly worse than people who do like things I like but not enough/too much/for the right reasons.

Okay, that's literally impossible. Unless your opinion is that something is worse than the taste of Bea Arthur's meat curtains, your opinion is guaranteed to be shared by at least one more person. Not to mention PLENTY of people hate Firefly.

bratpop

Tropic Thunder.  This is the greatest movie of all time and the worst movie I have ever seen. I can't believe everyone said it was so good and bad.

I was talking about the one person who said that line in this thread. Not to mention you're kind of a day late to this party anyways.

Also: You came a day late and took my line out of context. I wasn't saying there was only one person who hated Firefly. I was just telling the other guy in the thread (who was asking about Firefly) that this is one other opinion about the show and that he should check some episodes out himself.
