It'd be silly to try to sway your perception on a theoretical situation (which I highly doubt will happen)  where the subject matter is highly subjective and to a mild degree  objective, if the idea clicked for you, great, if it didn't, more power to you

but if you desperately want me to get you excited about this idea, I'll send ya a $5 gift certificate if it ever does happen

The reason it would be pointless would be that they release the tracks when they are ready, not at some pre-set-time. What you are asking them to do is to hold onto the trax until later for... What exactly? Is something better if you get it at midnight?

well, it'd have to be a very high profile track(Titanic, Star Wars IV etc) with a special combo of riffers (Mike, Joel, Kevin, & Bill or a different combination) and instead of being released at 12-3ish on Tuesday, it'd be ready for download the minute after 11:59 p.m. Monday

Not really the same as standing outside a movie theater, Best Buy, or Borders, but it'd be similar...

Though thinking about it in the light of day with a clear mind (as opposed to past one a.m. and groggy) it does seem a bit strange

The other thing is, you don't HAVE to watch them the day they come out.
Uh, I beg to differ. Discussion of a Rifftrax dies a pretty quick death. After three weeks, you might as well just become an old cat lady, because you ain't talkin to nobody about your latest old Rifftrax purchase.

Too true. One example is in the Rank-a-Rifftrax threads that start more than a few days late. The thread will go voteless and unstickied.

I come back and comment on threads months after the trax is released, and I usually get a bunch of responses.

And, either way, is that really relevant to your enjoyment of the release?

Why else do people have to buy the release on the day it comes out, along with the movie? Is it more enjoyable on that day?

Thrifty

After reading several posts concerning the expense of movies, and the effort people go to in finding some movies, I keep thinking "am I the only one who uses Netflix?"

Aside from the Star Wars Holiday Special, I have never had an ounce of trouble finding any of the 70+ Rifftrax I've bought and reauthored.  And I can get several DVDs for only like 9 bucks a month.
