Come on it wasn't that good

I'm pretty much the only person I know who thinks that the first Bourne movie was better than the other two.  The second one was about as good, and the third one was almost as good (though not as good as everyone says).  Paul Greengrass is an overrated director who needs to learn when to hold the camera still, or at least show some goddamn restraint.  I am NOT prone to motion sickness, but watching The Bourne Ultimatum in theaters made me feel sick.  To top it all off, the fact that I couldn't see a goddamn thing made the action sequences unsatisfying (with the exception of the car chase, which was pretty much just a rehash of the one at the end of Supremacy).

So yeah...
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

The "steadycam makes me sick" thing baffles me.

You've never been at sea during a storm either, matey.

Boondock Saints.

I'm never that fond of action movies.

I'm even less fond of EXTREMELY PREACHY (literally!) action movies with objecitonable ethics. The italian friend wasn't even a moral-driven vigiliante. He was just kooked-out killer. He was ready to shoot a non-pedophiliac priest!

The whole "ten commandments are not suggestions" thing, oh, so you're just ignoring the "do not kill" bit?

Also, real people cannot do that stuff.

The fact that somebody happens to be a mobster does not make it automatically okay to kill them. Cripes, there friend was technically working for the mob. How many waiters and "somebody's nephew brought to see how the buisness works"-types did they kill in their overzealousness?

This is a really stupid, preachy, action movie, suffering from delusions of being a thought-provoking Indy crime movie.

Honestly, I would have found the protagonists more sympathetic if they tore the mobsters apart with their bare hands, ate their flesh, and offered up their vital organs to Fenloria, the goddess of bones, lightning, and tribal vengence. At least they wouldn't spend a lot of time preaching my ears off. ><

I always assumed that stuff was intentional, the faced nature of religious fanatics and all that.

"faced nature"??

Do you mean the dull preachyness and implausable action scenes were intentional, or just the hypocrasy?

I've got a friend who feels the same way. Actually, me and two friends have a disagreement on this; one thinks the first is the best, one thinks the second is the best, and I think the third one is the best.

Also: I really don;t mind shaky-cam. In any movie, I get over it pretty quickly. I actually kinda like it from time to time, gives it a cool look. And it lets me leave a bit more to my imagination while still showing me enough so I know what's going on.

Based on the first, I refuse to watch the others.

The t.v. series Combat! perfected the hand-held technique.  It is very effective for conveying squad-level combat or a dynamic movement of a mass of people (like a rout or riot).  As a technique, it is poor excuse for proper cinematography or properly planned individual fight scenes.  Hand-held captures the sense of being shelled, for example.  It isn't a substitute for story-telling, and you have no ability to light the scene.

Sorry, I meant two-faced referring to the hypocracy.  Implausable scenes are par for the course with action.

Not prone to motion sickness, huh? It's a real thing.

I get severe motion sickness, but the "shakycam" thing has never bothered me.

Most of the time it takes actual motion to cause motion sickness in me, something on a screen isn't a big deal, but I know my dad had trouble watching Spider-Man in the theater because of all the big web-swinging shots.  I never knew him to get motion sick over anything except his story about how they had to land planes at extreme angles and speeds when he was in Vietnam.

I can't watch home videos for more than about 5 minutes before I start to sweat and get nauseous. I can't play first-person-shooter games.

If you don't, good for you. But it's not made up.

It's the same as that Japanese Anime stuff causing seizures in some people I guess.

I don't think it's made up I'm just suprised at the volume of people in this small community who seem to get sick at steadycam.

Im pretty sure this has been said before, but I agree with anyone who said Firefly.  Its an ok show, nothing spectacular.  Im not sure why people make a big deal out of it.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

itsjuststeffnow

i dont get "sick" i just get a headache.  i walked out of Cloverfield because of it....much to the dismay of my ex.....who stayed in the theater to finish watching the rest of the movie.....oh well, i just flipped him the bird and walked away.  i should have left him there cuz i drove, but i'm not that mean.  plus....................*whispers*  i had to flirt with the cute dude at the ticket stand.  lol....j/k
