OK.. After catching up a bit now on this thread, Yeah, Definitly, Mike should've at least been involved on this along with the 2 guests :(

It seems almost 'common sense' he should've been a part of the riff in a way, but that's just me.. :-\

I'll still check it out though :)

I don't believe there are any different cuts of the movie.  All of these discs should be the exact same thing.

Netflix sent us the "ultimate" edition.

I downloaded a fan edit for Dirty Dancing, do you think it will work with THAT one?!

Okay, so I didn't... I would be surprised to find there actually is a fan edit of Dirty Dancing.... perhaps making the dancing dirtier.
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

I am beginning to see why this is such a disappointing selection of movie for some people.  Patrick Swayze is the closest thing to a Rifftrax icon that we have.

You just made Joey Pants cry.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

I think Courtney's the only actual fan, so unless she's good with AV software...

Ahrem, I love Dirty Dancing.  My niece and I used to pretend play Dirty Dancing in the pool when I was a kid.  I always had to be Patrick though, because I was a few years older and able to lift her over my head a bit, WHY COULDN'T I BE BABY ONE TIME?!  ...err, that's a sad tale for another day and it sounds quite dirty now that I typed it out.  Maybe I should seek a therapist...

Anyway, yeah, we used to watch it at least once a week.
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

Lucky for everyone I am not.  Otherwise you'd have long ago seen my edit, tender tribute vids, and manipulated version starring myself as Baby.

Im not keen on getting my hopes up with a '20q' announcement.. only to find its my neighbor riffing on his sons soccer match.

You know, I actually -might- buy that. It has the potential to be delightfully cruel.

That is kinda my feelings on this too. I don't expect a 20Qs for an iRiffs or a Matt Elliot. Doing a 20Qs for a riff that doesn't include one of the big name guys (Mike, Kev, Bill, or even Mary Jo or Bridget) is kind of a big tease. Kinda like saying here is some new candy, then letting us know it is brussel sprouts flavored.  You tease us with something good, then reveal it is not what we hoped for. A new presents is fine and all. New riffers are fine and all. 20qs are fun for all. But  mix all three and it is just wrong.

Now I know Presents is riffers picked by Mike (and possibly the gang). I did give Matt Elliot a chance and ended up liking him a good deal. I'm really going to have to see a sample or two before I make any final decisions.I like the presents side because it does some movies Mike probably wouldn't do (House of Wax, Dark Water, etc) But I thought Day After Tomorrow (which was hilarious) would have been even better with Mike doing that one as well.

Each part of Rifftrax has a purpose. The main one is to tackle big name movies; Presents is to introduce new riffers, tackle movies the main one might not do; and iRiffs allows us fans to try our hand at it and show off our skills. I hope that Mike doesn't put off riffing "chick flicks" and 80s films completely. I love some of those and would love to see more. Crossroads was hilarious. Glitter was very funny as well. Road House, Top Gun, and Over the Top were all very funny as well. I really want to see more of those.

Here's a suggestion, maybe the 20 Q's could announce what they are for before they start?

The thread title could be:

20 Q's today!!! (RTP)

or whatever?

Then those of you who feel like they had their hopes raised only to be dashed will be happy. and those who like to play the game will be happy too?
FINE

Meat Trademark

Thing is, I bet it will still be funny. I'd never heard of these two, but I trust RiffTrax.

That said, I'm not in a HUGE hurry to get it. I mean, DIRTY DANCING?! This is one I'll have to work up to.

Sounds like a good idea to me. (this forum needs thumbs up and thumbs down emoticons)

Sorry to chime in late with my 2 cents...

But I say, let RiffTrax release what and who and when they want. Then let the money do the talking.
So if it does or doesn't do well...that will dictate which direction they chose to go in the future in regards to the who, what, when, where...

Ultimately, the consumer has the power with our buying hobbits...no...you can't purchase hobbits, not real ones, anyway...I mean habits.

It seems like it would have been a great choice for Mike and the Mrs.

Yes, it would have. I'm pining for another Bridget riff. Still, I'll take what I can get. I'm just happy to see this movie riffed, period!

I still think Mike and Bridget should riff Mrs. and Mrs. Smith.  :)

Mrs. and Mrs. Smith?  Are you that skeptical about Brad Pitt's masculinity?
