I thought the sample for this one was very funny. Looking forward to it.

What do folks think?

Just Some Guy

My brain is in pain.  Is that a thought?

If I say too much I'll just start a massive rant about the insanity of the film (Where'd everyone in the library suddenly get heavy winter clothes from? Why does no one care that another climatologist died needlessly on the mission?  Why is burning any of the books in the library outside of the rare book room a big deal?  Wolves?  How'd the ship navigate to the middle of Manhattan?  Why are the ISS astronauts reporting weather?  Didn't anyone watch the formation of a cyclonic weather pattern before the woman turned on the PC?  And... GAH!) so I'll just mention one thing.

Why was only the northern hemisphere effected by a sudden global climate shift?  Where were the massive storms slamming Argentina, Australia, Africa, and other places that don't start with the letter "A"?  If we accept the premise that this is a global shift in weather patterns then there are two hemispheres going by the Earth's rotation and the south should be just as impacted as the north!

Man, I bet Emmerich was pissed when he found out the title The Day the Earth Froze was already taken.

This movie is as subtle as a lead pipe to your knees - I especially like the part in the beginning when the tornado precisely clips off the part of the building containing the white couple and leaves the Mexican janitor 20 feet away untouched and clueless.

I loved the VP's contempt for the climatologists, too. It reminded me of the Southpark episode with AWESOME-O. "You just leave the thinking to us, Missssteerrr Science".

We got you guys to watch The Day After Tomorrow.

HAHA!

I think that counts as like 50 Rick-Rolls per person.

...I do hope you enjoyed the riff though; I know I was cracking up when I was working on the sync job. Probably one of my favs in a while.
Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

Please, like Chile isn't just asking for it.

Wow, this entire movie is super-extremist uber-liberal porn (or "red hot liberal porn" in reference to the riffing):

1) Environmentalism: The obvious message here. Delivered in possibly the most unrealistic, heavy handed way EVER.

2) Immigration: Americans invading Mexico in droves to escape the extreme weather. And as someone mentioned before, the white couple getting taken out not 20 feet from the Hispanic janitor who survives.

3) Economy: Homeless man showing the spoiled rich kid how to pack his clothes with paper to keep warm.

4) Politics: Making the politicians as asshole-y as possible in regards to the environment vs economy. Especially when talking to the environmentally concious weather guy played by Quaid.

This movie is just downright insulting (for both sides of the environmental/ political spectrum) and really should have been written tongue in cheek instead of taking itself seriously. The riffing was spot on and hilarious. It made the stupidity we witnessed a little easier to bear. Good jorb!!!!

This was a GREAT RtP!
Top notch script and performances by Kevin and Bill. This is a A+ winner and a must have for any fan of RT.
I thought the wife was going to have a laughing anorism during 'goodbye shrinkage'....had to pause for awhile after than bit.   :D

This was a great track!  Since August I have been very pleased with every release and this was no exception.  Bill & Kevin did a great job (as did Steve-O).  The Mr. Freeze bits had me in tears.  Well done sirs, well done.

Very good track.    Silly disaster movies are perfect fodder.
