Ooh! Dramatic irony! The audience can see it, but none of the performers can. :^)

Any news of when Dark knight is coming on DVD? I just hope it has lots of deleted scenes, bloopers, three different endings and 12 commentaries including one by the catering crew.

No official word I know of, but my guess would be late November or early December.

The movie store near my dorm actually has a concrete date set, they seem pretty determined to have it in December (I believe the date was the 12th, I'll need to double check that though).

RoninFox

I hope it's not the 24th.  Why would they want to put something out on Christmas eve?  That's likely to be a big gift item, wouldn't it make more sense to have it out at least a week early?

Apologies, typed 24th by mistake (dunno why, you're quite right in that it doesn't make sense); should have been the 12th. I know for a fact it's in December, but they're closed at the moment so I can't confirm it.

Well that date can't be right.  DVD releases are always on Tuesday.

Again, I'm working from memory here. They had a big packet of release dates, and The Dark Knight was listed as some date in December.

I couldn't believe it at the time, but multiple questioning of the employees confirmed it.

Yeah, why is that, anyway?

It's an American thing. Marketing studies have shown that people like dependability, structure, and routine. So the movie industry has set it up so that all new movies are released on Tuesdays. So Tuesday is the American "new moive day," or "movie night" for people who rent instead of buy. It's all about reliability, and people having their routines.

It's generally a slow day for retail, and thus one of the best possible times to reorganize displays etc

So basically, it's because all the other days are taken.
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

Interesting, I know I always used to set up my new wine displays on a Tuesday so I suppose that makes sense.

Is that the same reason for new comic books Wednesdays then?
