Yes... yes, that would make sense, wouldn't it :-[

Now I need to see it again, because I forgot which parts weren't widescreen.

Everything was in widescreen if you saw it in a normal theater.  It was cropped when printed on 35.

All the overhead shots, i.e. helicopter flybys of cities and what not were filmed with IMAX cameras, along with the opening bank heist, and the chase of Harvey Dent through the streets of Gotham. Certainly, those scenes looked great, but I'm not sure there was much difference than the DLP version, only because the IMAX theater I saw it in puts you SO DAMN CLOSE to the screen!

Doctor Who?

Maybe I'm a little crazy but I think the guy who plays Charlie in it's always Sunny would make a good Joker or Riddler.

Just watch any episode of that show but Mac bangs Denise's Mom is a good showcase of why I think this.

Too bad he may be off their radar because i think he could be good.

gbeenie

Anyone had a chance to see this yet?

p.s. When's the damn YouTube button coming back?
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

Awesome. I love it when people with far too much time on their hands do things like this (even got some of the mouths to sync up every now and again).

Bonus points for Rex as Alfred and Mr. Potato Head as Fox.

Whoa, gbeenie.  I've been watching that all week, then I come here and find it.  Great vid.  Not sure why I didn't post it before.  So I guess I'll post this instead.

Christopher Nolan's first short film, "Doodlebug."  Very cool (imo).  It's like that twilighty show about that zone:

And here's my thirty second version of it:

The kid in the second one could so take over the role if they needed  to feature The Joker again. :)

Batman sues The Dark Knight

QuoteI realize that the headline is very bizarre, but it's 100% true. A city in southeastern Turkey named Batman has decided to file a lawsuit against Christopher Nolan, the director of "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight."

"The royalty of the name 'Batman' belongs to us... There is only one Batman in the world. The American producers used the name of our city without informing us," said the Democratic Society Party mayor Huseyin Kalkan.

Batman is a centuries old city, taking root in the Neolithic age but becoming significant when oil was found in the region at the end of 1940s. Almost a decade before that, Batman was created as a comic hero.

Mayor Kalkan said last year that foreign media picked up on Batman's increasing suicide rates among women and unsolved murder rates. He said a columnist asked why Batman's mayor did not sue the movie Batman for royalties while struggling with economic problems. "We found this criticism right and started to look for legal possibilities of a case like that," he said.

Meanwhile, local newspaper alleged yesterday that Batman residents living abroad cannot use Batman as a title for their business, leading the municipality to think about the royalty rights of that name. However, mayor Kalkan rejected any allegations about the issue and said they do not have any information that Batman residents living abroad have problems about using Batman as a name.

But a former Batman resident, currently living in the Germany city of Wesel, is one of those citizens who cannot use Batman as a title for his business. "I named my two restaurants Batman," said the citizen. "But six months ago, a team of employees from the production company of the movie Batman made me change the title. Telling them that Batman was the name of my hometown did not change anything."

Meanwhile, the name of a local region cannot be registered as a brand name, said lawyer Vehbi Kahveci, head of the Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Commission of the Istanbul Bar.

They didn't have problem with the comics, the tv shows, the cartoons, the campy movie, the Tim Burton movies, the Schumacher movies, Batman Begins, the video games, or the action figures, but "The Dark Knight" movie was the last straw.

I guess they're suing because they *stopped* putting the word "Batman" in the title?

I have seen those!  I really love the sound of the scooter when he drives away.   *bbbbeeev*

God I know, right?  You'd think it'd be the armor nipples that put them over the top.  We'll be hearing from the village of TheDarkKnight, Estonia soon.
