The title is self-explanatory.  I've heard the topic discussed, but I wasn't able to find an existing topic based on it.

Anywho, I think they should remake The Running Man, only have it actually be based on the novel.  I mean, think about it - it has the whole reality TV angle going for it, plus gritty and more intelligent blockbusters are en vogue right now.  It couldn't BE any more timely or topical.  I mean, they're planning on remaking BILL AND FREAKING TED but they aren't even considering making a proper movie out of a book by one of the most famous writers on the planet?  Holy shit, Hollywood is dumb.
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

The Star Wars Prequels. Written and directed by someone with talent this time.

Gremlins.  I think the original is pretty great, but when I think of what they could do with special effects now, I'd really like to see them try.

mystery science theater the movie.  with a different movie and a company releasing it that will actually release it widely.

"Oklahoma". It's not my favorite musical, but it's a pretty good play, and it's close to my heart because it was the last play we did my senior year of high school...the "classic" movie, however, is so horrendously mishandled in so many ways. It has its good moments, but overall, it's just so bland and lifeless. The remake with Hugh Jackman is pretty good, but its done as a stage production, not as a "movie".

Manos: the Hands of Fate, directed by Michael Bay.

Holiday
Not because it was made badly before...but because a movie discussing Johnny's outlook on life as opposed to being all about the money would be good right now.

Johnny Case: "When I find myself in a position like this, I ask myself what would General Motors do? And then I do the opposite!"

Well I agree with the first part.

I've said before Manos is a relatively decent idea horribly horribly bitched in the execution.

Oh and we had a thread talking about redoing the prequels.

King approved movies almost always suck, possibly because King is a self-important hack.

Wasn't there talk of Rob Zombie doing a remake of C.H.U.D.? Or was that just a rumor, nothing more?

I hope they keep the theme. It's so deliciously bad.

they'd have to add a scene where something is thrown from the back of a truck onto the bonnet of a car in pursuit... small dogs perhaps?

Lifeforce.

Can they add a middle to the plot this itme?   Loved the opening and the ending but.....

Fuzzy Necromancer

Yeah. that would be nice. Also sort out exactly what really happened in the ending.

Not sure whether the odder dialogue should be revamped or kept for historical preservation.

Some movies make more sense when you rewatch them. LIfeforce makes less sense upon each rewatching.
