Doctor Who?

This is the flip side of the other thread.

I have to say I never got what was so great about any of the Matrix movies.

They just never seemed that deep or well made too me.

Also i love gangster movies but I have never been able to make it through Casino in one sitting.

Anything and Everything by Jean-Luc Godard.

He's one of the largest naked emperors ever.

Relaxing Dragon

I'll be frank: American Beauty. I just don't see what the big deal is. My reasons why are pretty much repeated here (and better enunciated): http://chud.com/articles/articles/14299/1/YOU-GOT-IT-ALL-WRONG-DAY-EIGHT/Page1.html (please ignore the elitism that site gives off from time to time).

Doctor Who?

I once tried to watch AB on Tv and i only made past about seven minutes.

I like Kevin Spacey but not that much.

Relaxing Dragon

Indeed (though I'm not that big a Spacey fan. I'm not saying he's a bad actor, because he's a great actor. It's just his roles rarely coincide with something that interests me).

Another movie: Wanted. For reasons unknown people seem to like this movie, which seems to me like some POS, glitzy version of Shoot 'Em Up (a far superior movie). It's derivative, stupid, not especially funny when it tires to be, takes itself too seriously otherwise (it's got a big magical loom for crying out loud! How on Earth can they treat it as seriously as they do!?), and is generally kinda dull.

Apologies for the mini-rant, I really do have a lot of frustration against that movie.

David Lynch gives him a good run for his money, IMHO.

The whole "Strarship Troopers" shit pile of movies.

Man, what a waste of a topless Dina Meyer

Natureboy

The Austin Powers movies......Seth Green was the funniest thing about that series.

I'm just curious: how many films by Godard have you seen? I know you hated Le Mepris, and though I enjoyed it, I much prefer his slightly quirkier movies like Bande Apart and A Bout de Souffle.

Pretty much everything he's done, still trying to find one which I find merits his rep :)

I'd given up on the search until the DFT scheduled Le Mepris, so for completeness sake I had to subject myself to it.

I mean yes, I find his films a little underwhelming also.

Pulp Fiction is one of the most overrated movies of all time.

I think Resevior Dogs was his best.

He peaked with his first movie!
