Matthew McConaughey's ludicrous scenery-chewing so utterly overshadows Christian Bale and Gerard Butler's decent performances that it skews the entire movie.

I still enjoy it, though. Dragons are cool.

This is completely true, but...

This means I get to watch one more crappy action? film starring untalented hacks!

McConaughey's acting is certainly way over-the-top in this movie, but he's no hack.  I actually think he's a pretty good actor...Contact, Amistad, A Time To Kill, U-571...even though lately he's just been schlepping it in lame RomComs.

Seems to me that casting McConaughey in this role was the producers' lame attempt at bringing in female viewers.

Think about it. How many women care for apocalyptic dragon movies??

Be realistic, now.

Personally, I thought McConaughey gave a pretty ballsy performance in this.

Don't forget MM's performance in Dazed and Confused.

You know, I wanted to see this when it was out in theatres, but I thought better of it.

I want to say thanks to Rifftrax for giving me a reason to watch this thing...

The verdicts still out on whether I want to say it sarcastically. :^)

I dunno... it seems like he was on the verge of tears during his speeches.

Watch it again and keep that in mind-  you'll see  ;)

Coming soon: Meg Ryan and George Clooney, in "Draco Of My Heart."  From the director of "Room In My Heart," "I'll Hold You In My Heart," and "Feelings and Love and Rich Handsome Guys Who Can Cry and Other Relationshippy Things In My Heart," comes a tale of love, loss and redemption; of meeting cute and babies and cute little armpit-accessory dogs; of finding the right man, who wears a nice-looking suit every moment of the day except just a t-shirt when he's under a waterfall, and saving him from a life of loveless sex, and showing him a world of sexless love. A world where love can get you burned, but can also put out the fire.  And start it, and maintain it.  And put it out again. But then, by blowing on the embers, make it ignite one more time and last a lifetime.

He dragged you to "Casino Royale."  Now YOU can drag him to "Draco Of My Heart."  Rated PG.

Why did McConaughey go with a broad parody of Americans rather than just be American? His character feels like a European movie's American cowboy cliche turned up to 11. And then they cast a Polish model as an American helicopter pilot. Ah, what a film.
