I can't go on
You said my head's too heavy
I need that song
Those trusty chords could pull me through

Whatdya' know... my girlfriend just found one of my Dusty Springfield albums the other day, and it's been on a pretty constant rotation ever since.

It is so odd to hear that Best Buy is stocking LPs.....  I just read an article about some chain of stores in the Pacific Northwest accidentally ordered the new REM album on vinyl and while some stores sent them back a bunch of the stores put them out and they sold like crazy. So now they are going to stock LPs in all their stores that have music.... As I said odd... very cool, but odd.

I just checked on that story, more can be found here:

Definitely cool, though I very seriously doubt they would start stocking black and death metal LPs. Still, it's good to see the format making somewhat of a comeback.

I'd say Whalberg definately qualifies as really good.

Best Buy had the ION USB turntable in their weekly sales flyer too.

The album she found was sort of an "import" called Another Little Piece Of My Heart: The Love Songs. I'm not a big fan of Greatest Hits albums though, so i assume she'll end up asking for some of my other albums soon.

I believe it was just the portable one, since I was JUST looking for the ITT USB on bestbuy.com this weekend and that's the only one that turned up. In any case, I picked up the regular one for less than the $100 the portable version is advertised for on their site.

It was the ITT one for $149.99. I have one and it is not bad. I just need to order a new stylus.

Heh. Chinese Democracy... Did someone try to sell that at your store, or did you search out one of those bootlegs on eBay? I've seen so many versions of that thing floating around out there that i never knew what i'd end up with if i bought one. I suppose at the worst it would just be a collection of new songs performed live at various shows over the last few years.

Oh yeah, and how's the music anyway? Any good?

Its OK. ANTIQUIET.COM leaked 9 of the tracks  and they showed up on usenet. There is way to much sampling going on in the songs for my taste. You can still hear some buckethead on at least one track.
