I thought the movie was really good compared to Ang Lee's version. Tons more action, far more engaging non-action scenes, and Ed Norton made a far better Bruce Banner than Eric Bana did. Although I hold that Iron Man is the better of the two Marvel superhero movies this year, I rank this film up there with Spiderman 2 and X-Men 2 in terms of sheer entertainment.

I think Marvel Studios has gotten off to a spectacular start, so far.  :)

I also liked their very clever use of the clip from The Courtship of Eddie's Father.  And the opening credits flashback was a big shout out to the tv show as well.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

I have to throw in that I really did enjoy this movie BUT it needs to be riffed.  There are so many golden oppertunities for riffing.  I  know we got some time before it comes out on DVD, but it's never too early to start planning... that's what I always say!  ;D

I actually think they should riff Ang Lee's movie first before tackling The Incredible Hulk.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

I remember thinking "Wow, this CGI is WAY better than the blurry mess that was Transformers" about midway through the Emil-Hulk fight.
Well, it did get a little "Cloverfield" just before the fight....and the rest of the time it's the old "Keep the camera moving and zooming in and out" thing they have to do because if they let you really let you focus....

But those were minor compared to other movies like I, Robot and (gag) Van Helsing.

I agree, but then again I am of the opinion that every comic book movie needs to be riffed.  (maybe not Howard the Duck though)

QuoteAlthough a sequel has not been officially announced as part of their upcoming slate (which includes "Iron Man 2" and "The Avengers"), Marvel told each of the actors that they would be part of a trilogy, Tim Blake Nelson told MTV News.

"When I signed on to do the movie, when I went and had my meeting with [director] Louis Leterrier and Gale Anne Hurd, the producer, they said, 'We want you for all three movies,'" Nelson, who plays Samuel Sterns, said.

What Nelson would most like, of course, is for the success of the "Hulk" to give him a chance to ultimately become the Leader, "with his bulbous head and giant brain," Nelson laughed. "It's an honor to be able to play such a storied character. I'm very excited to do as much as they want me to do."

He'll have to get in line, joked co-star Ty Burrell, who plays Dr. Leonard Samson. Like Sterns, Samson is a minor Hulk character, Bruce Banner's psychiatrist and friend, who eventually becomes super-powered as well.

"He's not necessarily a bad guy but also not necessarily a good guy either. He's such a complicated character," Burrell said of Samson, whose brief appearance in "Incredible Hulk" sets him up for more drama. "In the comic [book], [he] went back and forth from being a friend to Bruce ... to then kind of working against him. That's what's great about it."

Like Nelson, Burrell said he has had conversations with Marvel about the ultimate development of his character in future installments. In the comics, the canonical Samson is exposed to gamma radiation, but comes to learn that his powers are tied to the length of his (now green) hair.

Director, Louis Leterrier is positioning himself in Nelson's camp, calling the Leader his preferred villain for part two. "I really love the Leader because there's something unstoppable about him, [but] it's also not the same thing. It's just different," Leterrier said. "The fact that [Leader] controls stuff with his mind — I just like that. There's an idea here that's more cinematic."

Hulk-
Good movie.

One question: Was this a sequel or a re-launch?

The film was originally going to be a sequel with new actors (like Punisher) but Norton rewrote the script so it could include the origin and cut all ties to the original film.  Good call on that one, Ed.

Considering the above posted article with Louis Letterier, et. al. I believe that Leader will be a natch for the sequel.

Here's hoping the Marvel Captain America movie has a better looking costume.  :P

Anyone else who has watched the Pyun Cap movie horrified with what they did to the Red Skull? He sort of resembled Bizarro after he got the plastic surgery.

I thought the opening credit sequence of this one was better than the entirety of Ang Lees movie.

At least they had the decency not to show poor, defenseless creatures being harmed, just William Hurt and Liv Tyler.
