Would it be trolling if I posted this in response to Torgos response to you Isaac?

Ok I promise not to post again off topic. :)

That's simply not true. I've never trolled. Ever. On any board. And certainly not on this board. You should be going after Scott, since he's the one who actually trolls in every thread I've seen him post in.

You've never trolled? Let's review.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial and usually irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of baiting other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.

But I've never done that.

Quote from: torgosPizza on June 13, 2008, 01:24:57 PMFrequently, someone who has been labelled a troll by a group may seek to redeem their reputation by discrediting their opponents, for example by claiming that other members of the group are closed-minded, conspirators, or trolls themselves.

Bullshit.

What? What the hell did Scott do?

Troll, repeatedly.

If you go back and re-read the thread, everything was fine until you decided to employ one of your "witty" remarks. (It's about making pillows for an orphanage, in case you've forgotten already.)

Everything was fine until Scott started trolling my responses.

Quote from: torgosPizza on June 13, 2008, 01:24:57 PMYou even acknowledged what you did in the chat.

Isaac› I didn't "go after the owner of the thread", I used one of his posts to make a joke about Scott.
› Isaac quit

So, what's the problem with making a joke about Scott's trolling?

Quote from: torgosPizza on June 13, 2008, 01:24:57 PMSo, instead of behaving in a thread meant to discuss two movies, you felt the need to make a completely out-of-the-blue and unnecessary joke about Scott? What's the point?

But I HAVE been behaving.

Bullshit.

Wikipedia said it, not me.

Where is this? Is this some other thread that I missed somehow?

I don't know, guys, I'm just not as a big a fan of Mel Brooks as everyone else.

RoninFox

Mel's had his ups and downs, but Young Frankenstein was a great achievement for him.

I think that's what it comes down to here: a director's absolute shining acheivement above all his others, and the lesser third of a director's masterpiece trilogy.  As this is my view, I chose the former, obviously.

Now if it was a broader poll, say the works of Mel Brooks vs. Peter Jackson, I think it would be much harder for most of us (not me though, I'll take Brooks every time.  But that's just my opinion.  I love Dead Alive, the Rings flicks just aren't my cup of tea.)

Doctor Who?

Wow Issac got Powned.

I love Mel Brooks movies but for some reason i have never laughed at YF.

I love the rest of Brooks' films.

Maybe because i never saw the movie it is based on.

Also TT was the best time I have ever had at a movie so i had to vote for it.

Personally, I think Mel Brooks made his best film with his first, and it was a gradual slide into mediocrity from there.  And after the mildly amusing High Anxiety, no good ones.

Anyone see on the imdb a listing for a Spaceballs animated series? What's the word on that?

RoninFox

No biggie, personally I don't think History of the World was all that great.  Funny moments but the movie just drags like no other Mel movie for me.  The one movie of his I absolutely hate is Dracula Dead and Loving It.  He just completely botched everything that could make Leslie Nielson funny and came off completely flat.

Was that before or after Barbara Pierce and Jenna Welch Bush were elected president and vice president of the United States?

Love all of Brooks' films. There's not a single one that I've found to be terrible or weak. 8)

Quote from: Scrivener on June 13, 2008, 07:29:12 AMIsaac, I'm gonna make you an offer.

I'm really torn between these two movies.  I cannot decide which one will get my vote, but one way or the other, I am going to vote.

Here's the offer:  if you lay off the well-worn Peter Jackson bashing until the close of the voting, my vote will go to Young Frankenstein.  Otherwise, the Two Towers gets it.

The matter is in your hands. <Grail knight> Choose wisely. </Grail knight>

Have ScottH kicked out of the thread, and you've got a deal. That way, everybody wins. You don't have to read my praise of Mel Brooks, and everyone else no longer has to listen to ScottH's backwards view of reality ("issac's insults r soooooo patethic").

Isaac, I have no problem whatsoever with your praise of Mel Brooks.  If you want to fill a few pages with appreciation of his movies (and other stuff:  I loved Get Smart as a kid), you are more than welcome.  Some positive stuff would do wonders around here.
