Hi Bill :)

Do you hate us?

While I'm back in Mexico for 3 weeks starting Monday, What do you recommend I do to get my mind off this subject of variety??

Mexico?

I'd say vodka.

That's the drink they're famous for, right?
PSSH!
::)

a pretty girl is like

That's such a SELLOUT argument.  :)

How feasible would it be for  you and Kevin doing a Rifftrax on your own?  By that, I mean, writing and recording away from San Diego.  Would the problem be in the recording process?  I have no idea how much it costs to rent a studio and whatnot.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

How do you like the idea of each riffer doing solo riffs, instead of just Mike?

EDIT: Beat to it again!

For those who posted before I wrote my lengthy thesis above...

Please see if I addressed your question there, and if not I'll try again.

(If you want your question answered... I can be bribed, you know.  Sell-out, and all.)

First, I would like to say you are my favorite and i have a deep affection for you, Amanda can vouch for this.

Bill I posted this in other thread but give me your thoughts on these suggestions.

Personally I take issue with the fact that Legend Films isn't releasing mike, bill, and kevin riffs on the cheesy movies they put out on dvd (like Mr. Torso has said), I mean I have absolutely NO reason to buy those dvd's but if a Mike riff is on each of them I know I would buy them and so would a ton of other people. So that is one possible way to fix your issue Greg, that I think would make smart business sense to the big corporate thugs behind the Rifftrax empire....

The other thing that could be done is to have us the forum do polls and Mike choose from those polls one older movie that we would all say we would buy the rifftrax for, that way Rifftrax isn't flying blind on what will sell and what won't, and maybe these could be every other month or so.

And on that same topic (and since we know somebody's going to ask it)...

What about Red Dawn?

As someone who reauthors the movies, my only complaint is the cost of the Brand New releases as riffs.  I wouldn't mind them once in a while like 300 and Cloverfield being availible the day the dvd is released.  But I'd prefer movies that have at least been on the market for 6 months or so, just so the $20.00 price tag drops a little to below $15.00 or I can pick up a used copy from a video rental place.

On a personal note to Mr. Corbett..  The Over the Top live show was very funny and I had a great time despite you making fun of me for my beverage of choice at the bar after the show.  I'd love it if you guys would record the 3 man version of this or do some more awful 80's-90's movies.  My number one request would be the Van Damme movie Double Team.  Come on, it has Dennis Rodman for pete's sake.  Thanks for providing us means to talk directly too you.  It's pretty unheard of in entertainment of any kind to get this direct connection with the providers of our laughs.

Understandable about the price of Brand New releases, Raven.  That's something worth taking into account, and if no one at Rifftrax has thought of it previously, now they know.

But to counter that -- brand new releases usually sell VERY well.  300 remains the top seller (or was for a long time, anyway).    You and I can theorize about why that is -- short attention spans, etc. -- but that's a fact that Rifftrax knows from looking at sales.  So it has to be balanced with that.   I'd never say that everyone has to be happy with it, because it's your right not to be.  It will just be a part of this business for a while, even as we gradually try to blend in other stuff.  (And that is coming, in different forms...)

And hey -- I remember you kooky kids at the bar after OVER THE TOP.  That was fun.  (We should really have arm wrestled for drinks, though.)

Hi Bill.  I don't really have a question.  Just a comment.

My main complaint with you guys riffing new movies is how much more money it costs me in the end.

I re-author all of the Rifftrax you guys put out (Meaning I take the mp3 file, sync it with the movie and burn that onto a DVD-R for easier hassle-free viewings).  To do this legally I have to actually purchase the movies you guys are riffing.

So, when you guys riff a new movie that I don't particularly like on it's own (like I Am Legend) it kinda bugs me because I'll have to put down $15.00 to $20.00 for the DVD plus the $4.00 for the Rifftrax.  Ouch.

On the other hand when you riff movies like Glitter it only ends up costing me about $12.00 total for both the Rifftrax and the DVD.

Also, I think you guys tend to riff movies that really don't have a lot of riffing material.  I personally thought you were desperately stretching for good jokes on movies like Bourne Identity and Raiders of the Lost Ark.  Which shows me that just because a movie is popular doesn't mean that it should be riffed.  I realize that Rifftrax is a business but shouldn't the riffability of the movie be your number one priority?

Let me just say that I've purchased every single Rifftrax you guys have done up until Cloverfield.  It just astounded me that you guys thought that would make a hilarious Rifftrax.  So, I didn't buy it and I don't plan on ever buying it down the road.  I'm kinda glad I didn't buy it because from what I'm reading people seem to think you guys were stretching for jokes on that one too (which is exactly what I feared would happen).

Anyway, I'm sorry for being long winded.  I just figured this might be my only chance to let you personally know how I feel about this whole situation.  Thanks for reading this and caring enough to start this thread in the first place.  I'll always support Rifftrax but I hope that this philosophy of riffing movies just because their popular goes away.  Thank you.

Absolutely, Titanic would be great a choice.  I've always thought that adding someone like Bridget or Mary Jo along with the "Big 3" would lighten the riffing load for each person while adding a much needed female perspective to whole proceedings.

Basically what everybody is trying to say is 'do you read the suggest-a-trax forum?' There are threads that are over 20 pages long that still don't have a Rifftrax. Maybe even some references from those movies could be used in the Rifftrax... since actually rifftraxing them would prove financially difficult.

2nd question, wasn't the Star Wars holiday special something of a surprise best seller? Can't you guys take some occasional chances when it comes to certain older movies?
