What is the film that YOU (bill) would most like to riff next?

Two films I'd love to do:

1)  TITANIC

2)  BILLY JACK

Probably won't happen soon, though.  (Esp. since Titanic is 17 hours long.)

I've got my copy of Billy Jack, so I'm set!

I personally thought you were desperately stretching for good jokes on movies like Bourne Identity and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I personally thought the Raiders of the Lost Ark Riff was hilarious!  (and the Bourne Identity one pretty funny as well, so there ya go.)

Soooo... I should keep holding my breath for DUNE??

I've turned 4 shades of blue already..

I'm even finishing up a script of the movie to ease you guy's pain :)

Re DUNE -- yes, it would make a great Rifftrax.  It's certainly not a matter of it being painful for us, since we're battle-scarred.  We did BATTLEFIELD EARTH, remember!

But alas, DUNE probably wouldn't sell very well.    And that's based on a lot of analysis of previous sales, etc.  Never say never, but...it probably won't happen soon.

Sorry to send you off to Mexico with a broken corazon.  (<--- high school Spanish)

BUT in terms of you writing a script for it yourself -- remember, DIY is always an option.  A lot of people who post here have proven that, and have their own viable riffing operations.   More power to anyone who does that, say I.

Aww Gee Wally! You're Swell ;D

For those who posted before I wrote my lengthy thesis above...

Please see if I addressed your question there, and if not I'll try again.

(If you want your question answered... I can be bribed, you know.  Sell-out, and all.)

First, I would like to say you are my favorite and i have a deep affection for you, Amanda can vouch for this.

Bill I posted this in other thread but give me your thoughts on these suggestions.

Personally I take issue with the fact that Legend Films isn't releasing mike, bill, and kevin riffs on the cheesy movies they put out on dvd (like Mr. Torso has said), I mean I have absolutely NO reason to buy those dvd's but if a Mike riff is on each of them I know I would buy them and so would a ton of other people. So that is one possible way to fix your issue Greg, that I think would make smart business sense to the big corporate thugs behind the Rifftrax empire....

The other thing that could be done is to have us the forum do polls and Mike choose from those polls one older movie that we would all say we would buy the rifftrax for, that way Rifftrax isn't flying blind on what will sell and what won't, and maybe these could be every other month or so.

If we worked with corporate thugs, they would be in the oil biz.  Many more bucks to be made in that.  That, and taxidermy.

As far as releasing 3-clown riffs on the Legend Films stuff -- I like that idea.  A cheesy black-and-white, with a chunky 1950s dumb-guy hero... ahhh, sweet relief.  I think that PLAN NINE did poor business, though.

I know that Rifftrax is looking into ways of delivering more of this stuff, since we'd all like more variety.    But it's tough to put out stuff that doesn't sell, and then sweat out how long you can keep the circus going.

"Yeah, I realize that was only one voice of a guy who was posting in anger.   But when you're in any kind of business, and in particular the entertainment-related biz, you simply can't please everyone.   I don't mean that sarcastically, at all.  You just CAN'T."

You mean Like Why aren't More Rifftrax Being Released in Spanish?

We're switching to All Spanish by 2009.   Taking a Berlitz weekend course to prepare.

Bourne was okay, but Raiders was fantastic.

Guys, what exactly are we accomplishing here?  They have to focus on well-known scifi/adventure films or they'll lose the family farm.  We know this.  We've been told this by the folks involved many times before today.  Why is this so hard to understand?

How did Mission To Mars do though?  That's the kind of stuff it would be nice to have all three of you doing once in a while.  Plan 9 just seemed overdone.  I liked it fine.

I'm glad you mentioned the actual comparison of New Releases to old.  80% drop in sales is quite a lot.

Just a thought and not necessarily just to Bill.

I'd be willing to pay more for older titles from the 80's and 90's.  If the "die hard, must have every riff people" are the only ones who want 80's movies, then why not bump up the cost a couple of dollars for these releases to increase revenue.  If we're willing to pay a buck for a ten minute short I'd gladly pay 6 or 7 dollars for a riff of Dirty Dancing or something like that.  The DVD's are old enough that the cost for those of us who reauther would still be less than the brand new releases and those who Netflix can pay the extra for the track if they truly want an older movie riffed, but they don't have to pay for the rental anyway.  I realize this wouldn't be enough to make up for the 80% drop but it might help.  If it's stated ahead of time that the cost is higher because they don't sell as well then those of us who want to see future titles of the same category would be given the option to step up to the plate.

But what do I know.

Then people would complain about the price.  Why try to cater to the few when they're just going to find a new excuse to whine?

I agree, and have said as much.  So that's like 12 or 14 dollars right there.
