So just to confirm, the newer "Unrated Directors Cut" version of this movie will work?

thanks...

On which note, can anyone find a link to a PAL version of this film?

Amazon.co.uk only seems to have NTSC versions and Play.com has one with a similar cover but it lacks the 'Director's Cut' banner at the top.

From what I gather, we'll need the NTSC versions because the PAL one doesn't have the director's cut.

Yes, that's the one to get.  In fact, it looks like it's the only you can get:

Yes - it's the only version out there (from what we can tell), and the one that was used.

Hmmm...dammit. I guess that means that no video stores will be renting it and anyone in a non-NTSC region will have to buy it. At least they won't have to provide more than one version of the MP3 this time.

I ordered it pretty cheap from Amazon Marketplace.  In fact, it was the same price as a used copy of the PAL one.

A quick question/comment for the UK members:

Seeing since RiffTrax cant test their PAL versions...and seeing since there have been some issues in the past with the PAL version, then wouldnt it be easier to purchase the NTSC version of the movie and RiffTrax and just play it back through your computer? Or with a DVD player that handles NTSC discs?

There's a few reasons:

1) We might already own the DVD.
2) It (usually) costs more in terms of postage and packaging.
3) Delivery takes a lot longer.

It's a good suggestion for people who're willing to pay a little more and wait a little longer though.  I might look for NTSC copies myself for future rifftrax before getting a PAL one.

The only PAL issue i can think of was with the Matrix and that wasn't a PAL issue per se, but one exclusive to the U.K. (headbutts, indeed  ::)).

As MrBasehart says, acquiring NTSC copies might prove a little more problematic, especially for those with non-region-free DVD players.

At least in this movie Brando doesn't get the butter.

Truth be told, it's about time they got to this movie.  Kilmer has it coming.  Brando is just icing on the cake.  Still, this headache-inducing movie is a hard sell, even with Rifftrax.

...oh boy...that was with Madonna right? I'm sure she enjoyed it ;)

BTW, I picked up a copy of this stinker at a local Best Buy (yes in Canada!), for 8.99 Cdn. It was the last one they had.
Found 1 movie rental place that had it for rent but rental fee was $6!! So I figure for a couple extra bucks I'd just buy it.
