For those who don't yet have a copy, note that the recent Warner Brothers Triple Play DVD of "Island Of Dr. Moreau / Dark City / The Hidden" (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000HT38E4/onlinebargains) with an MSRP of $14.98 and available in most places for $10, is also the Unrated Director's Cut, with the same 25 chapters as the standalone DVD.  Circuit City has it, though for some reason Best Buy doesn't...

So far I have checked out 4 big named video rental places in my city and none of them have it for sale or rent.
I might have to order it online, but that means it will be at least 2 weeks if it is shipped from the US :(

$6, and its yours.

I already have mine.

Gammer, I think it would be $9 including shipping to Canada, but it is brand new.

I gotta say, I'm glad they're going in a completely different direction with this choice.  I loved the last few rifftrax for some of the more recent blockbuster films (it helps bring in the business), but it's good to see a lesser known, more crappy movie getting the treatment.

I ordered this stinkburger used from Amazon.com today.   I cannot wait to see what they do to this bloated (and I dont mean Brando) and horrible film.    I saw it years ago and I am still recovering.

I love the look on Mikes face in the RiffTrax movie poster. He just has that look of: "Oh man, this movie stinks!"

Nubule

I think he looks kind of constipated, myself.  Kind of like, Yee-OUCH!

Deep Discount DVD has it for $5.18 with free shipping.  I get all my DVDs from them.

I had to order mine through Caiman.  They're pretty good, but quite slow with delivery.  No matter, I've got the next few weeks off anyways!

I liked Ronin, and I've heard mostly good things about Frankenheimer generally- is this movie really uniformly terrible, or more wildly uneven and strange?

I guess what I'm asking is, are we looking at Coppola's Dracula or One From the Heart?

SecretAgentSuperDragon

I heard that Val Kilmer was so tough to work with, that Frankenheimer publicly claimed that he would never work with Val Kilmer again.

So if the director knows the movie sucks, what does that tell you? :-",

Frankenheimer made some great films in the 60's.  The original Manchurian Candidate and Seven Days in May are great political thrillers, while The Train is a very odd war movie about the Nazis retreat from Paris (I think) and taking all their art.

The Island of Dr Moreau is a mess because of various reasons: Frankenheimer was a replacement after only 4 days of shooting, Brando's daughter had committed suicide not too long beforehand, and Val Kilmer was divorcing his wife.  It might've been a half-decent film if things had gone smoothly.
