Lost In Space -- well, it was made in 1998; I don't know what year it was set in, it was the near future; the BEGINNING, at least, is set on Earth; it bombed at the box office; the antagonist is human; it had the guy from Fifth Element; and it was kinda based on "Swiss Family Robinson."  Doesn't PERFECTLY fit the clues, but MAN, I'd love to see it Rifftracked...
