I had thought Peter Parker was a man until Spiderman 3 when he started acting all femmy. Some may argue however that since he became one with the symbiote that he qualifies as an astroman. What do you think sirs?

Can't he be an Astrowoman in this case?  He's far to femmy to be just an Astroman.

Well, I know in the comics he's been labeled as some sort of "Spider God" or something. I cringe thinking the hacks writing the Spider-man comics stole ideas from movies like Pumaman thinking it's a fresh new twist on a well established character.

P.S. It's been nearly a year and I'm still pissed about how Venom was mishandled in this movie more than Peter.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

I'm not into the Spiderman comics or anything, but yeah, I was hoping for more Venom character development.

Of course the rumor mill has it Marvel Pictures may give Venom his own spinoff movie with Carnage as the possible villain. They were going to give Venom a stand alone film with Carnage as the villain in the early 90's long before Raimi's movies but it was stuck in Development Hell. It only got up to the script stage. If my memory serves me right David Goyer wrote a script treatment for the Venom movie but I could be wrong.

I wouldn't call Peter Parker a woman, because in this day and age I'd like to think we've moved past the stereotype that all women are irrational, whiny, over-emotive airheads.

I think that Peter Parker's main problem is that he is totally clueless. He's not trying to be a jerk (well, at least not in the pre-symbiote bits), he just truly has a negligable ability to comprehend how his actions affect the feelings of other people. When he's talking with Generic Love Interest in the botched proposal scene, you can actually hear the whooshing noise as all the emotional subtext just flies straight over his head.

He's also a total dork. I mean, there's dorky, but he's an extremely clueless dorky dork. This is coming from somebody who has an entire shelf devoted to DnD manuals and has a series of Teen Titans fanfictions (not the masturbatury self-insert porn types mind you).

Isn't that because Raimi didn't want Venom in the script?

QuoteRaimi wanted another villain, and Ben Kingsley was involved in negotiations to play the Vulture before the character was cut. Producer Avi Arad convinced Raimi to include Venom, a character whose perceived "lack of humanity" had initially been criticized by Sam Raimi. Venom's alter-ego, Eddie Brock, already had a minor role in the script. Arad told the director that Venom had a strong fan base, so Raimi included the character to please them

so it's all your fault
;D

Yeah, she had every right to walk out on him while he was taking her to a fancy restaurant depite the shithole apartment he lives in. I mean, he had a lab partner he never told her about! Insensitive prick! Forget that he's Spider-Man and she should be kissing his godly ass with her snaggleteeth. He was slightly flippant about something that didn't acknowledge her as queen of the known universe! I'm surprised she didn't have his head chopped off right there.
