Quote9.  Riffing one of the MST3000 shows.  I'm sure I'm not the first to come up with this marvelous plan.

I think Mike said it best in one of his interviews, something about this destroying the universe.

Mike's very good at destroying things. It's about time he upgraded from planets to the whole universe.

I do really like the idea of them either doing a meta-riff for MST3K: The Movie, or using Rifftrax to do a commentary.

That is a stupid idea. People keep bringing it up, and it always sounds stupid no matter how it is explained.

A commentary would be great, but that is not a Rifftrax.  MST3k was cancelled.

Exactly.  If it were a commentary about how the movie was made and differences between making it and the show or stories about problems with the studio or whatever, I'd be interested and I'd listen.  If they were riffing, how would you follow it.  I already have friends who don't like MST3K/Rifftrax/Cinematic Titanic etc. because they have trouble following the plot of the movie while catching all the jokes, How hard would it be to keep track of jokes about jokes about a movie?

If you really want to revisit MST3K the movie with new jokes, call for a Rifftrax of This Island Earth.  Not sure how widely available it is, but it looks like you can get it from Amazon.com for 11.49

1. GYMKATA:  for the love of all that is holy. GYMKATA! I know of at least one  video store that still has it on VHS.

2. GERRY:  this one is a challenge. You could just talk about other stuff that's funny, because nothing happens in this flick. Nothing.

3. Being John Malkovich:  c'mon. A monkey and an enboobed John Malkovich.

4. The Big Hit:  c'mon c'mon, feel it feel it, feel the vibrations

5. JUNO:  you could Riff her Riffs

6. Top Gun:  it's already one big gay joke. You just have to let out of the closet.

7.  Citizen Kane:  Think of all the fat jokes. And, how often do you get to make fun of the greatest movie of all time in a public forum

8. The Birds:  I could have handled that problem. Just get me two tennis rackets strung with bailing wire and a full face motorcycle helmet.

9.  The Other Sister:  making fun of the handicapped is Edgy. And who told Juliet Lewis she could act.

10.  Bloodsport, or Kickboxer, or Street Fighter, or Universal Soldier, or Time Cop, or... Just IMDB Jean Claude Van Damn, anyone of those shitstorms will do just fine.

I would like to amend my list to include all Costner films.  Somehow, there has been no Costner.  He is the most egotistical of all the major Hollywood stars.  Even in a role that had him serial killing... He was still just... a real good guy.  I need him mocked.

He could be playing a burn victim with no appendages, and EVERY woman in the film would want him.  In "The Postman" his real life daughter even wants a piece of Cos-pie.

At the very least, we need Waterworld, and The Postman as requested.  Those are his two largest and most glaring errors in judgement, with the rest of his catalog a mere breath behind.

This is my only hope, other than praying for a winner take all, 4-way, steel cage death match between Costner, Stallone, Gay-Flan-Who, and Affleck.  That way three of them would be gone, and hopefully the remaining one would be too weak to ever step in front of (or behind) a camera again.

Peace from the K-Cos Nation... Have a Cos-tastic afternoon.

Scrivener

I don't know, but he left this silver urine-filtering machine.

(And that may be the only extended "Lone Ranger" joke this forum ever sees.)

Mr. benmurphy, if you're serious about wanting a Costner film, I suggest putting all your effort behind "Waterworld".  It's significantly shorter than "The Postman", which would be a huge grind for Mike and company to riff.  And its cheese quotient is far higher.

One man's opinion.

Thorns of Crimson Death

Hey guys, first post.

10. Dawn of the Dead (original)- One of my all time favorite movies.  I only list it because of it's now cheese-factor and it's riffable.  Hell you can't list at least one movie that you love that you want riffed, then what can you list?

9. Hostel- I loved the gore but the jokes during the worst of scenes (visually) would be hilarious

8. The Rock- Nic cage, thesbian un-extrodinaire and Sir Sean Connery in all their glory.

7.  Dr. Giggles.- I got it as a stocking stuffer on VHS years back and it's TERRIBLE.  The riffs from this one would be EPIC.

6. Who Framed Roger Rabbit?- Just think about it, the possibilities are endless.

5. Masters of the Universe- They took my beloved action figure collection as a kid and made it into a Dolph Lundgren abomination.  Plus it's from the peak of cheese that was the 80's.

4. Saw- As much as I loved the first one out of the series, it's ripe for riffing and I'd really like to see what the guys do with it

3. Top Gun- I don't think I should have to explain this one.  If you think I should, then you're obviously missing the point.

2. Any of the "Movies" made by the people that brought us "Date Movie", "Epic Movie", and "Meet the Spartans".  If you actually paid to see one of these throw away flicks/enjoyed them then please do the world a favor and kill yourself.

1. Clash of the Titans- Loved it growing up since I was raised on this type of movie but it's so incredibly riffable that it must be done.
A spell was cast and the sky turned red.  The Angel's heart froze to ice.  Roses of blood from an innocent soul.  On the plain lies an Angel dead.

You know, I've never seen this movie, but I did notice a dvd of it on the shelf today while I was out.  I think it just got re-released or something.

I think you should have to explain why you put this on your list, and why you didn't read a few posts back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

....and just to hammer the point in:
