I just called and asked them about their camera/backpack policy.

They say that there are absolutely no cameras allowed.  This could be because of the CT crew showing clips of Oozing Skull.

As far as backpacks go, they say you can bring them but the ushers will take them from you and hold them until the show is over.

So, kind of a bummer overall.  I'll still bring my camera just in case though.

Oh, boo.

Looks like I'm first one back (unfortunately, since I couldn't stay for the post-show signing).

What can I say?  It was a great show!

Mary Jo, Frank, J. Elvis, and Joel all did a set of stand-up and they were all very funny (I thought the Mary Jo was the funniest IMHO).

This was followed by a Q&A session and an acoustic sing-along (Josh and Joel on guitar) of the MST3K theme.

Oh yes, and mark your calendars for Oct 25, 2008.  As Cinematic Titanic will be doing a live riff at the Historic Minnesota State Theatre.

And look for the next dvd release near the end of the March.

One last thing, I don't know who's the wise guy that had Trace pointing out myself and others from the forums here, but it was a real treat.  Thanks

Thanks Artie! (I'm jealous, by the way)

So, the guy was pointing out Roundtable members why? Because you were, like, the enemy or something?  :)

Artie

He was pointing out "celebrities" in the audience.  Someone must have given him a list.

Now this is fantastic news.

Well cool guys. You are so lucky to be able to go.  I doubt they would ever do something like that here in Utah.

They also have a bit of an overview of what happened over at www.mst3kinfo.com here is what dave said:

n a nicely intimate comedy club setting, holding approximately 150-200 people max, the show commenced a few minutes after 8, as scheduled. A screen was already down in front of the stage curtain with The Oozing Skull title screen from the start of the DVD. As the lights went down, the first segment of CT 1.0 was played for the audience. As the segment ended, Trace and Frank started voicing (on microphones, off stage) over the DVD, in character as Dr. F. and Frank. Trace asked Frank what this was, "...where are the robots, the satellite?" and questions of that nature. Then the entire cast of Cinematic Titanic came on stage to audience applause. Introductions all around, and then Trace stayed on stage alone as the "emcee" of the evening. He then introduced Mary Jo, who came on to perform approximately 15-20 minutes of her own inimitable and very humorous stand up comedy. This was repeated for every member of the cast; following Mary Jo, in order, were Frank, then Josh, and finally, Joel. Joel brought out many of his classic, beloved "inventio-props", such as the pocket mohawk and the leaf blower bagpipe, along with some newer ones.
At the conclusion of Joel's stand up, the entire cast came back on stage to take some Q & A. No information was given about the next CT episode. He did say they were shooting for a release at "...the end of next month" (i.e. end of March). When asked if CT would appear on television or cable, the response was, essentially, that would be great if the opportunity came up, but for now, they're pleased with this format and releasing/selling the product in this manner. The last question asked was, "What about the toast to MST3K?" Joel said, "...That's right, we forgot!" Joel and Josh went backstage and came out seconds later with guitars. They proceeded to discuss the writing of the original MST theme song, which Joel said was written at a Denny's restaurant in Minneapolis. Josh disagreed, and they essentially ended up agreeing to disagree, with Joel standing his memory ground. Josh and Joel then proceeded to play the beloved theme on guitar, with the rest of the Cinematic Titanic cast and the audience accompanying. It was a great conclusion to a wonderful evening of nostalgia, history and launching point for Cinematic Titanic. As for merchandise, there was a table at which the following items were sold: black t-shirts with the Cinematic Titanic logo on the front, the Time Tube display on the back (think the classic MST globe shirt, only replaced with Cinematic Titanic...large logo, not small); 8×10 CT cast (in silhouette) picture, Oozing Skull DVD case, either regular or pre-autographed, and, of course, the DVD itself.

The biggest news of the evening was this: Josh informed the audience that they had finalized a deal to perform a Live Cinematic Titanic show at the State Theater in Minneapolis on Saturday, Oct. 25 (if I heard the date stated correctly). We will obviously be hearing much more about this soon.

I can't wait till the next show. I can say with 95% certainty I'll be going!

Here's my report of the evening's proceedings.  I went down to the ACME theater at about 5:00 PM to grab my ticket (I had the dinner and show package and my dinner was scheduled for 5:30 PM).  While I was waiting for the restaurant to open I saw Trace and his wife walk in and with a bunch of boxes containing CT merchandise.  They proceeded to set up the merchandise stand while I went to dinner.  After eating I noticed Mary Jo and her husband Ron had arrived.  Ron and Trace's wife managed the merchandise stand before the show.  I picked up a CT t-shirt and an autographed DVD case of The Oozing Skull.  As I was paying for my merchandise Ron mentioned my name and Trace's wife said to me "So, you're James of LinHood, huh?"   :o  I guess I have a reputation.

After being seated for the show Trace was the MC.  When he said that there were some celebrities in the audience I thought he meant that literally.  So, imagine my surprise when the first name he reads off the list is "James of Linwood."  Yes, he said Linwood instead of LinHood but I really didn't care.  It was crazy just being mentioned.

BTW, I'm very sure it was Ron (aka RAD) who gave Trace our names.  It's the only logical explanation.

As others have said the show was very good.  I actually thought Josh was the funniest.  But everyone did a great job and I was very glad I went.

They didn't allow photography during the show but I do have some pictures of them signing things for people after the show.  I'll post those later tonight after I get home from work.

I'll definitely be at the State Theater live riffing.  If enough of you guys are coming out I think we should do some kind of a meet-up.

I couldn't believe Trace was calling out forum members, it was fun. Trace even pointed out my Weasel t-shirt as I was going through the meet-and-greet. Unfortunately, I was doing my best Mumbles impression from Dick Tracy until I finally regained some composure and was able to conjugate a complete sentence by the time I got to Josh's spot at the table. I was absolutely star-struck. They were all so super-cool.

Frank's act was my favorite from the night. His Valentine bit had me in tears, and James, did you "boo" Valentine's Day? It came from your end of the club. And his "Convoluted Man" finale, I thought Frank was going to fall over and had that in my head the entire drive home.

What an amazing night, and I'll be in Minneapolis on the 25th of October.

Although I was tempted to boo I did not.  I may be bitter about Valentine's Day but I'm not that bitter.   :P

I just got home from work so I finally had some time to upload my pictures.  I apologize if the quality kinda sucks.  Here are a few that I took while the CT crew signed stuff after the show:

I've been asked to post pictures of the merchandise I bought.  Here's the shirt...

And the DVD cover, front and back:
