Thoughts & Favorite Lines?

I actually quite like the Harry Potter movies, but I don't mind films I like getting riffed and this wasn't an exception.  As for favourite lines, you've all said them - especially when Kevin tries the Cerebro/Magneto joke only to get brutally shot down - but there's one people haven't mentioned which I laughed at: "Grimgott's is sttogmirg spelled backwards!"

Fuzzy Necromancer

I liked THIS harry potter movie.

The first two and the fifth one were good.

Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire were choppily edited and riddled with story continuity problems. They didn't make sense unless you'd seen the book, and if that's the case why bother with a movie?

Huh.  Completely the other way around for me.  :)  I thought the newest one was possibly the weakest of the lot, while the previous two were realyl very good.  I haven't read the books either.

I saw GOF and could tell it was chopped to bits. It didn't matter what they cut or didn't, but the editing was distracting. There was no flow between one scene and the next. It seemed to me not like they had to trim parts from the book, but shot too much and had to trim parts from the movie. Or they just let a monkey with ADD film it. Possibly both.

"So, ready for this movies version of the Pod Race?"   Laugh out loud moment for me. :highfive:
I found it funny that both the Round Table riffers and the Rifftrax riffers both thought "Podrace" when we saw where the quiddich thing was going.

I found the whole podrace... uh... Quiddich sequence hilarious.  The part where I nearly fell out of my chair was when they added play-by-play a-la Sidehackers!  I could swear I saw a Woozle named Peanut in the stands!  HAR! HAR! HAR! HAR! HAR! HAR!

If this Quidditch match was as BAD as a pod race, the one in Chamber of Secrets actually IS a pod race. They even have that part in the video game and it's just like any pod racing in any Star Wars game.

The Riff Raff version has one.

I don't know....call me too "old school" I guess....but I always thought the Pod Race was ripped-off from the Endor speeder bike scene from Jedi.  I remember when that came out and it blew everyone away!  The HP:COS Quidditch match was MUCH more like Endor than a pod race.

That's just me....I could be wrong....and usually am..... :rimshot:

Lucas has always loved having fast moving vehicles in his movies whenever they could fit.  The difference, in my view, is the speeder bike scene from Jedi was a better made action scene that you were invested in because it put heroes you cared about in jeopardy.  In the Pod Race, no one really gave a damn about Ani and they gave even less about the mass of meaningless digital monsters in the other pods.  So you basically have the space equivalent to watching Nascar when you don't follow it and don't know any of the drivers.  I could agree that the Quiddich game was more spider bike chase than pod race, but the pod race is the established Rifftrax measuring stick for painfully long racing/sports event scenes.

YES! And no one I watched it with has seen Troll 2, so I laughed like a loon to everyone's bewilderment.

I have a correction to make. John Williams only did the score for the first film. So it's actually someone else ripping off John Williams (twice over) in the second movie's Quidditch/podrace, and I'm pretty sure it rips off music from Episode II that was released the same year. Some day I'll actually compare the two, though I don't have the actual soundtracks.

He wrote and conducted the score for the first movie. He wrote the theme for "Fawkes the Phoenix" for the second movie, but someone else just rearranged his score for the first one for the rest of the cues and conducted it.
He wrote and conducted the score for the third movie as well.

The score for the third movie is John William's most original and best score. When I first saw it, I totally thought it was someone else doing the score, and didn't believe it when it said he did it. It really is a good soundtrack though, it is unlike any of his other scores, its like he went through some sort of composers crisis before writing it and came out the better.

He probably just had more time to do it. What else was he working on then?

As much as I love Williams (and I do,  a lot), I think the best HP score is Doyle's for the 4th movie. Different, but cool.  Was extremely disappointed in the score for #5, which was trite and forgettable, all at the same time.

Yeah, the 4th one was a gem, I loved track 18, the voldemort track. One of the most moving songs I have ever heard. The entire score was dark and exciting at the right moments, and I loved the Quidditch theme too.

I agree about the 5th one, the only good song was flight of the order of the phoenix, and that was only good for the first 30 seconds. The rest was boring and emotion was non-existant.

At the end when harry gets the photo album
"Oh no!  They started all over with a new baby? This is terrible news!"....
-creepy voices- "Join us harry...."

"His name is Vvv---- no wonder hes mad!"

This was the very first Rifftrax I had bought, and I can't wait to make my second purchase soon.
