Insert Coin(s) to Continue

I really enjoyed writing this FanTrax, and I'd love to participate in another one, but I think we can all agree that this movie wasn't an ideal launching point for some of us less experienced riffers. It was a difficult movie to riff. What do you think are some better movies for next time? (Assuming Mike, Bill, and Kevin allow a "next time").

I think we could make it through:
The Day the Earth Stood Still (it's a really good movie, but it has that old-timey cheesy sci-fi charm. It is in no way painful, and it has a lot of material that can lead to some good jokes)
Gamera: Guardian of the Universe (I know, I know. It's my personal movie that I keep bringing up. Having riffed it, though, it has A LOT of good material -- in fact, the entire Gamera 1990s series does. Guardian of the Universe has some of the goofiest voice acting I've ever heard in a movie. The movie itself is actually pretty darn good -- one of, if not the, best kaiju movies ever created.

Anyone else?

I disagree that this was a bad one to start with. There were so many good jokes in this one, I think it was a good one for us to do. I think the problem of the jokes tapering out near the end has more to do with the time constraints put on the RiffRaff guys. While watching the movie and the Rifftrax got quiet, I could have come up with a lot of jokes. But had I started from the beginning, I would have petered out, too.

I think it just shows how good these guys are for having done this for so many years. I'd rather come up with riffs on a goofy movie like this than Manos.

It really did come down to time constraints. Meanwhile, I second Gamera, if only bacuase the script is already written. (I'll record it someday, I just know it!)

Might I suggest that if we do this again, it not be during a major holiday season? I could have gone to work much sooner had my better half (and a necessary nutritional supliment to my riffing) hadn't been visiting family for Christmas until the last 2 days before it was due.

No matter when we do it, it's not going to work for everyone. There will always be conflict. It'd be nice to have a few of these each year, just whenever.

I agree with the concept but you need to pick movies that are more readily availible.  If you can't rent it at your local video store participations gonna be way down.   Granted, B&R isn't on a lot of wal-mart shelves anymore but I've never seen a Gamera movie for purchase anywhere.

Uwe Boll makes a good future FanTrax candidate. Mike has said in interviews that he probably won't do House of the Dead so why not let the fans take care of it  ;)

Ohhhhhh, i am so there.

Have we learned NOTHING? Maybe it would be best to pick a movie that's lighter on action scenes and has less soul-sucking. :^)

Whatever they choose, I promise to try harder and write more riffs.  I wish I had tried to come up with more for this one.

We can write the riffs for the movies that are so bad even the riffmasters are too afraid to tackle them.   ;D

This from a man who's called himself a "Glutton for punishment."

House of the Dead is only 90 minutes............ we could do this.

Normally, but I've had SO much with B&R, I just don't think I could take another bite. Well- Maybe one more. :^)

Yeah, I'm going to have to step up my game for the next one.  The competition is fierce.

Just think of House of the Dead......... as the title credits read  "House of the Dead", we can riff back "the Kansas City Royals story".

Just imagine the mirth.
