And i agree, i'd rather hear silence than filler jokes.

Sorry to keep harping on this, but I strongly disagree.

Everyone's sense of humor is different. What's a lame joke to most people may be tremendously funny to someone else. You never can tell. And a dumb joke at least has the potential to be funny. SIlence doesn't.

bratpop

That's my take as well. There's always at least one person who will laugh at a joke. And that person's name is Clyde.

And another named Dick :P

I think we need a separate thread for who DID get gay jokes into the riff. I did.

I'm a little dissapointed that my "Brokeback Batman" riff didn't get Rifftraxed ;D

One of my lines got cut off, "Are they gonna start humping the aquarium"  was followed by "or are they gonna go all Broke-Bat Mountain."

Jokes of mine/my brother's that got in:

"Dang, he was my ride."

"I have a theory. It's still rough, but it may be worth a shot. Perhaps if I were to walk up to the door to this wing and somehow cause the door to open, I may be able to receive some sort of information as to what lies on the other side...my God, it worked! I'm a genius!"

"Bill Nye's new show just doesn't have the same charm."

"Come over here and finish my sentence for me!"

"I can't believe I wasted fifty thousand on that flashback hallway."

"Other words I can't read."

"Alfred doesn't use his own name or his boss's name as a password? Damn, he's good."

Joke that may have been ours but may not have been: We wrote "...who is conspicuously absent tonight!" and Mike said "who is suspiciously absent."

bratpop

I wrote, "Who is suspiciously absent."

ChrisHanel

About 12 people wrote that line, along with 50 other jokes.

Mine:
"I tried planting jellybeans once, but I never got that jellybean tree" " maybe if you fertilized it with glitter"

Mine?
spotting levers, that's why HE'S commissioner

That last one was cut to "that's why HE'S commissioner" and repositioned to a nonsensical place. Or it very well could be someone else's. Maybe i didn't even write it. Me ever watching batman and robin has been blocked from my memory.

Same idea:
Alicia Silverstone's 5'o clock shadow.

What the hell was up with that anyway?

bratpop

That was mine, and I think it was a little fuzzy exactly what the timing meant. I wrote "I think I finally realize how he got to be commissioner." And it was in reponse to Gordon watching his men fall down the stairs. In other words, his men are even dumber than he is. So really I don't know if people even get it. I'm not sure why it made it except that it makes sense in the script with "(Gordon watches cops roll down the stairs.)" In context maybe it was too obscure.

I think yours is funnier, but they chose the long speech about the symbolism of the lever instead. Which I think is funnier than both our commissioner jokes. But I'm a sucker for ridiculous speeches.

Pak-Man

Tyrant's: Quick, Robin! He's heading into Narnia!
Mine: "If it's ice the ice man wants... Huh."   Thought I had a pithy joke there...
Mine: (You can all bap me now): Batman shows off his Bat-Credit-Card.   Assuming Mr. Freeze hasn't frozen his account!
Mine: "Oooh no."   I'm gay, now.
Mine:  "She wants to kill you, Dick!"   Whoa! Language, Batman!
Tyrant's: (Batgirl suits up.)   So Uncle Alfred designed a skin-tight gothic leather outfit for his NIECE!
Mine: "...Victor Freeze..."   With your nose so bright...

Although, really, it was such a collaboration, it's like we both came up with them together. It pays to riff in groups. :^)

Raven

Here's what I had.

^ Batmobile drives out of tunnel ^ The tilted camera, everythings glowing blue, I'm having Battlefield Earth Flashbacks.

^ 5 guys fall down while skating ^ that's 2 minutes for overacting.

^ Dr. grabbing Uma ^ Tommy Chong gets aggressive when he runs out of weed.

^ Little bruce falls down ^ Why did my parents build that hallway at a 45 degree angle.  (not the exact line but similar)

^ arnold directing the choir ^ No wonder the California legislature doesn't get anything done.

^ pick a star and follow it ^ ... so we've selected Christian Bale.  We hope he can bring dignity to this dying franchise.

^ opens invitation to auction ^ And they will be signing autographs at the boat show from noon til two.

^ Uma talking about killing Batman ^ (as security guard) Maam, We're standing right next to you and heard everything you just said.  Come with us please.           ( pretty sure this was mine, just shortened up a bit. )

^ Poison..poison ivy ^ Well that doesn't surprise me.  This movie's giving me an itching burning sensation whenever she's on the screen.  (Similar idea, I'm sure almost everyone had.)

^ Freeze loses gun again ^ He might wanna invest in a rubber grip for that thing or consider using some pine tar. ( Similar, the one they used was adding a strap )

^ enough monkey business ^ Monkey business, huh, if the word ice isn't involved I barely notice the puns anymore.

^ freezes batmobile ^ That's why you winterize early.

^ reveals Freeze tied up ^ We couldn't think of anything ridiculously stupid to put into the apprehension scene so we just skipped it.  (same idea)

^ batman and robin bickering ^ Now an episode of Dawson's Cave.

^ blacklight faces on walls ^ If you think the women in the Red Light district are sketchy you should see the ones in Gothams Black light district.

^ molotov cocktails during bike chase. ^ Wow the thrills of Cirque dis solei combined with the excitement of Pod Racing.  (Pod Racing was changed to Running Man)

^ Ivy's dust ^ Oh oh they're gonna start humping the aquarium.

^ Alfreds computer generated program ^ Max Headroom hasn't aged well.

^ showing Freeze video of Ivy ^ (mocking) Yeah watching batman  & Robin hurts doesn't it you hack.

16 riffs (2 that were changed) and 3 riffs that I had similar.  Not to bad.

Ortega

after finishing the movie, these are mine

"I got mine, where's yours?"
"that's the motto of the Republican Party"

B & R chasing freeze
"We seeing the clouds of cocaine that fueled the script-writing session to this movie"

motorcycle race
"this scene makes the Podrace  in Phantom Menace  seem subtly nuanced and gripping.

dead guards
"I spilled my slurpee!....Me too!"

These were lines that were similar to what i wrote, but were probably duplicated by other writers as well.

"Thanks for leaving us over a icy precipice with no means of escape!"

"Help me, the vines are causing the film to go in reverse!"

I'll say again....thank you, James and Chris for giving me the chance to have some of my comedic heroes to perform my jokes.  A big tip of the hat to you!

Not surprising. We also submitted a different Strong Bad joke and a different Dr. Forrester joke.
